Sorry. Thought this was new news!

TX TX - Jason Landry, 21, enroute from TSU to home, car found crashed at Luling, 14 Dec 2020 #5

I agree. Whether it was alcohol/drugs or a head injury or some combination thereof, I think accidental misadventure is by far the likeliest explanation. He's most likely in water somewhere or concealed somewhere that he ended up in voluntarily (an unused outbuilding, a heavily vegetated area, a...

Deceased/Not Found NY - Saniyya Dennis, 19, SUNY College Student, Buffalo, 24 Apr 2021

Oh no. The way they said that makes me worry that they have video of her jumping or, at least, highly suggestive that she did.

SOLVED MA - Jane Britton, 22, Harvard student, Cambridge, 7 Jan 1969

I was just coming here to post this. Don -- I am so excited to see this book you teased two years ago is actually going to be published and, based on that review, it sounds like it's great! Also, having participated in this thread, I was tickled by the Websleuths mention in the NYTimes book...

GUILTY Canada - Makayla Chang, 16, Nanaimo, BC, 19 March 2017

There is a thread in the r/unresolvedmysteries forum that sheds a lot of light on this case. The author is verified by the sub's mods (how she was verified is explained in the thread). Also, given that the original thread (linked in the OP of the new thread) is from three years ago and very...

Deleted in case even a comment that vague isn’t allowed. Apologies.

Ugh, lots of rumors on FB discussion groups of her case. Locals posting first hand observations/knowledge of what is going down. Search for her name on FB.

Found Deceased CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, did not return from bike ride, Chaffee County, 10 May 2020 #3

The cash in the account is subject to legal constraints on use, so they can't just dissolve the charity and pocket the money. Disposing of the funds would be just as much of a hassle as re-registering it. Maybe they were going to do a missionary trip before her health issues? Maybe when some...

Found Deceased CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, did not return from bike ride, Chaffee County, 10 May 2020 #3

I think it looks like a pretty normal personal charity used to facilitate donations (probably from other church members) and/or to get a tax break on their own contributions. Probably funded a missionary trip or two -- likely that they and the other key employees actually went on. Possibly been...

Found Deceased CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, did not return from bike ride, Chaffee County, 10 May 2020 #3

Sure, but lots of people in this thread have been saying that LE has never said she went for a bike ride. That's not true. LE did say -- 3 days after she was originally reported missing -- that the investigation indicated that she went for a bike ride. That doesn't mean the bike ride couldn't...

Found Deceased CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, did not return from bike ride, Chaffee County, 10 May 2020

I also, honestly, find it really weird that they aren’t releasing some basic information about the circumstances of her disappearance — who called 911 & why; last known sighting; etc. I know they play things close to the vest, but they’re not even giving the basic info for people to know if they...

Found Deceased CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, did not return from bike ride, Chaffee County, 10 May 2020

I’m confused about where the husband and girls are now; especially the high school aged daughter who presumably lived at home? The silence from the family is really weird. Frankly it’s really weird whether or not the husband is completely innocent though. Innocent husbands speak out. Guilty...

Found Deceased CO - Suzanne Morphew, 49, did not return from bike ride, Chaffee County, 10 May 2020

I think the early searches in this case suggest that they thought she really did go on a bike ride and was potentially missing out in nature somewhere. I have no idea where things stand now, but the initial resources deployed/search type strike me as consistent with searching for the victims of...

Found Deceased CO - Maggie Long, 17, suspicious house fire, Bailey, 1 Dec 2017

Do any of the 3 sketches match the sketch they were originally passing around? Because WLN basically confirmed that was a sketch of the tenant. Which also seems weird because the sheriff later said the sketch was of the van/BOLO guy, but we know that the tenant was at the house when the police...

GUILTY FL - Dan Markel, 41, FSU Law Professor, Tallahassee, 18 July 2014 - #8 *arrests*

Even though I 100% think she's guilty, I don't think this answer is as incriminating as others seem to. She's been in court the whole time. To pretend she didn't know what day the money drop occurred on per the prosecution's theory would seem more evasive to me. ETA: She obviously should have...

GUILTY FL - Dan Markel, 41, FSU Law Professor, Tallahassee, 18 July 2014 - #8 *arrests*

They can buy her attorney's theory that he conspired directly with the Adelsons. You can have unindicted co-conspirators in support of a conspiracy charge. The state clearly argued that the As were in on the conspiracy, so that's legally sound.

GUILTY FL - Dan Markel, 41, FSU Law Professor, Tallahassee, 18 July 2014 - #8 *arrests*

But, like, he eventually convinced him to do it... that's still solicitation. Even LR said he knew what was happening by the time it happened.

GUILTY FL - Dan Markel, 41, FSU Law Professor, Tallahassee, 18 July 2014 - #8 *arrests*

The not guilty on solicitation is weird. That means they don't think SG convinced LR to do it? That means they didn't actually believe LR's testimony... which then makes the guilty verdict on the other charges puzzling. What on earth is their theory?

GUILTY FL - Dan Markel, 41, FSU Law Professor, Tallahassee, 18 July 2014 - #8 *arrests*

It may be that, given the answer they got to the other question (yes of course you can convict some defendants/on some counts and hang on others), they're nailing down the verdicts they can reach first... which is actually a sensible way to proceed. ETA: Sorry, this was in reply to post #979...

Also, if polling the jury reveals that they were sketched out by none of the Adelsons being charged and that was some of the doubt/hesitation of the "not guilty" faction, the state can decide to charge CA before re-trying KM to eliminate that issue.
