Overkill - Overkill in a homicide refers to the use of excessive force or brutality beyond what is necessary to cause death.

04-14-2000 Larry King Live with former Detective Steve Thomas Larry King: "What about the suitcase under the bedroom window?" Steve Thomas: "Well, I think that's easily explained -- under the basement window." Larry King: "Basement window." Steve Thomas: "One, a witness in the house that day...

Smit suffered from tunnel vision in the case, imo. Once he hypothesized that an intruder committed the crime, I believe it skewed his thought process to the exclusion of other potential evidence as we have discussed here, often. He should have known better.

If you look at it logically it's very clear who did it!

Maybe not everyone is aware that the Ramsey's were in fact indicted and charged with one count of Child Abuse Resulting in Death and one count of Accessory to a Crime. They were never exonerated. The prosecutor chose not to pursue the indictments...

There are reasons that LE zeroed in on the family. The biggest reason is that there is no evidence that supports the intruder theory...none. Yet people out here continually parrot the intruder theory as if it has merit. In any murder case, LE first looks at those closest to the victim and works...

Overkill - Overkill in a homicide refers to the use of excessive force or brutality beyond what is necessary to cause death.

Smit as well as Mary Lacy both lost their objectivity and suffered from implicit bias in favor of the Ramsey's. With that mindset, both were looking for evidence that supported their belief rather than accepting the evidence at face value.

    Ransom note location.

The DNA did not clear the Ramsey's. DA Mary Lacy claimed they were cleared but it was not official, nor was her exoneration letter legally binding. Subsequent DA's did not agree with her findings. It is logical to set something on a stair if you want to remember it when you go up...but it is...

MD MD - Sr. Catherine Cesnik, 26, Baltimore, 7 Nov 1969 "The Keepers"

I have been following this story for quite some time and have posted on the FB page. One thing that strikes me is the fact that her body was dumped just over the line into Baltimore County. The significance I attribute to this is the fact that Maskell was friends with cops and used to drink...

    Ransom note location.

The whole story of the ransom note is ridiculous. I am not even talking about the rambling text. I am talking about it's location on the stairs. From Patsy's 1997 police interview: PR: Okay. Um, we got up at about 5:30, I think. I think John got up first and I got up just right behind him and...

Ramsey bed...only one side slept it?

No, I don't know either. It just looks a little questionable and if true, would throw Patsy's story into total fabrication.

Ramsey bed...only one side slept it?

The Ramsey's bedroom crime scene photo. Does it appear as though only one side of the bed was slept in?

Overkill - Overkill in a homicide refers to the use of excessive force or brutality beyond what is necessary to cause death.

It seems you are basing this entire argument on a false premise. I don't know of anyone who considers that BR struck JB, strangled her with the cord and then wrote the ransom letter. That does not have any evidence to support it. But a nine-year-old can wield a golf club and strike down on a...

A minor consideration... otg prepared a very good scenario, but on one count I think there is a miscalculation. From your post..."I believe otg solved the mystery of the head bash weapon; JBR was struck by the shaft of a golf club. Based on his research, it would have been possible for BR to...

Never noticed this before on JB neck...(graphic)

I don't know for sure, but it looks to me that she may have been dragged...causing the mark that runs along the chin line, then the rope repositioned to its strangulation position and the paintbrush inserted and twisted to tighten it. Wasn't her hair and necklace twisted in the knot as well...

Never noticed this before on JB neck...(graphic)

I know its a toggle rope as well...but just used garrote, since that is the common term around here. In either case, could they have dragged her and then repositioned the rope for the strangulation? I have spent many years in public safety and the funeral industry. I have seen hanging victims...

Never noticed this before on JB neck...(graphic)

This image looks to show evidence that there is a second injury under her chin line, and what appears to be another to her neck below the cord that looks also to have been caused by a cord or similar. The chin marking angle could seem to indicate that she may have been dragged? Surely I am not...

That is the story Bedwell told investigators as his confession to the crime. Evidently, they did not believe it since he was not convicted. They even had Bedwell reenact the crime

His name was William Willingham. If I recall...Bedwell walked into a bar on Skid Row in Chicago and Willingham was sitting in a booth with two girls he later stated were the Grimes sisters. After a few drinks the four of them supposedly went into the car and to a motel, where they were alleged...

Bedwell claimed that the guy he was with, had stolen a car and it was used in the crime. Afterward, the driver dropped Bedwell off on Madison Street in Chicago and Bedwell claimed he never saw him again.
