I was able to buy both episodes a few minutes ago. I'm not going to rewatch the whole thing right now, but I watched the beginning of the first episode and everything seemed normal.
Procopio's arraignment is tomorrow morning. His lawyer has asked that Procopio not be required to appear.
Nothing new for Cooper.
Hammer got a new attorney on 1/2/2019, so we're back to her having nothing on the schedule.
They are scheduled to have "miscellaneous criminal hearings" 1/14/2019 to 1/16/2019. On 11/08/2018, they were told that all pre-trial motions had to be filed by 12/31/2018. There are at least four motions listed in the docket, but there are also a few entries that are sealed.
The trial itself...
The trial is scheduled to start on 5/6/2019. Weirdly, the same date is listed on the docket ten times, which isn't something that I've seen before.
Someone at the public defender's office did file an entry of appearance on 1/3/2019, so there might be more activity soon.
Some scheduling details from their docket sheets:
They are scheduled to have pretrial conferences 1/14/2019 through 1/18/2019. Jury selection is scheduled to start on 2/19/2019. The trial will start 3/14/2019. The schedule also has 3/4/2019 listed as "trial," but there are no details for that...
I normally have a lot of sympathy for mothers with postpartum depression, but it is hard for me to extend my sympathy to this mother. Child services had been involved for almost two years. It would have been emotionally difficult, but there were a lot of opportunities for her to say that she...
She has been moved from county jail to a juvenile detention center. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 16.
I also want to include a reminder that Philadelphia's docket sheet search is separate from the one for the rest of PA, for anyone else that wants to look for information.
I'm not sure about this one. It's made it through to Common Pleas court, so that will be the place to go for updates. Her formal arraignment was cancelled back in October. She's now awaiting pre-trial conference. Nothing is scheduled. There's nothing I can find in the docket sheets to give any...
You're welcome!
I used to just lurk but wanting to keep up with this was the push to start posting and looking up information. I'm in New Castle a few days a week and am often near their house. I didn't know the family, but I saw them a few times while I was playing Pokomon Go in the area. I'd...
Their jury trial is still scheduled to begin 6/17/2019. On 11/29/2018, papers were served scheduling King's trial for 6/17 again. I'm guessing it was pulled from the schedule when the lawyer stuff happened.
Gregory L. Nester is the attorney that withdrew. King has private conflict counsel...
3/08/2019: Miscellaneous Hearing
Going through the "entries" section of the docket, it's a suppression hearing.
5/06/2019: Jury Hearing
It's in the schedule through 5/13/2019
Cooper is scheduled to appear in court February 1st.
Hammer was arraigned yesterday. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 28. The charges are: 3 counts of criminal homicide, 1 count of conspiracy to committ robbery and inflict serious bodily injury, and 1 count of hindering...
Even if the mother was using the baby as a shield, that doesn't mean that the officers could also treat the baby like an object. He has rights of his own. If she started hiding behind an adult, the police wouldn't be able to risk injuring them just to get them out of the way more quickly. He...
Thinking about the ways that they could have disposed of evidence, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for a farm to have recent burn or dig spots, espescially if they had been planning in advance. My grandparents' property isn't as big as theirs, but there are tons of random places that the dirt...
Cooper's preliminary hearing is rescheduled to December 20.
There is a update for Jody Hammer. She plead guilty of Obstruction of Justice on November 13 and was released on November 19. Her formal arraignment will be January 8th.
Reading both of them also helps put together the bit about the gun going missing. Procopio told police that the gun was hidden at the house that Procopio and Hammer shared during his second interview. When the police went to retrieve it, it was gone. By this point, Cooper had already fled and...
Procopio and Hammer won't be in court again until January 8th. His most recent docket number is CP-37-CR-0000934-2018. Her's is CP-37-CR-0000941-2018. I'm pretty sure the PA Court website doesn't work well with linking directly to court summary reports, but that's where I found it.
It seems...
