I guess the only way Tim Miller, the IRS and the State of Florida will get the money she owes them is if she takes the million and they get a judgement. She will be frivolous with whatever money she has; she can only buy companionship at this point.

As for the big picture... Maybe Casey would have gotten off on a technicality in appeals and by then the world would have forgotten about her, so she could have integrated into society more easily. The massive publicity in this trial has served the purpose that no matter what the jury said...

In her call home from jail when she is demanding Tony's phone number, you can hear it. It isn't really a proper LI accent, but when I heard Tony give his testimony, I could hear the similarities.
