Rabies-Infected Dead Bat Brought for Show and Tell

You can get rabies just through contact with your mouth or eyes or touching the infected saliva containing when you have a cut on your hand. Its rare-ish I think but definitely possible and kids are always sticking their hands in their mouth/face. This woman is nuts. Even without the rabies...

Thanks for posting that Intuition! And thanks for getting the attention on Rogers case in the first place:) I really hope they do the DNA testing, and soon!

92 yr old grandma is Michigan womans matron of honor

This is so sweet:) I wish my grandma was still alive for stuff like this, we were really close when I was little. Its not exactly a 'big news' story but they both sound so nice esp. granddaughter it made me happy to read it. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/odd_grandmother_matron_of_honor "SAGINAW...

Boy, 7, breaks into zoo, feeds animals to croc

It sounds like there's probably something verrry wrong with this boy. Where on earth would a 7 year old even get the idea to break into the zoo while they're closed and feed the crocodile? He must live nearby (at least I hope he does) but what kind of kid goes out of his house in the middle of...

Mystery couple murdered in South Carolina, 1976 - #3

He does look like the sketch (not so much the morgue photo though?)and New Mexico would certainly fit. But the Ottawa police site says Jean Vincent was last seen in April of 1978, and has blue eyes not brown. Its a good guess:) but the dates and eye color would probably rule him out I think. ETA...

    Baby frozen for 21 years

That is just awful. They need to give these parents a new investigation. The old version of the DPT shot was actually very dangerous, two of my older brothers almost died right after getting it in the 70's. It wasn't common for kids to die from it, but not exactly 'rare' enough for it to...

UCLA group discovers humungous prime number

Yeah, I think thats probably what was used? There are programs you can buy or download that will come up with encryption codes for you, they are usually pretty uncrackable. The real question though is how on earth do they make all the play doh colors taste different but still smell exactly the...

UCLA group discovers humungous prime number

I would guess they just did this for the contest $ and fun, but prime numbers do have practical uses. I know they use them in cryptography, also computer coding stuff? This number isn't practical to use in any type of cryptography (or legal in USA) but shorter ones are used for stuff like...

This may make some smile but it hurts me just to think about it.

I thought it was the Duggars too! They actually are expecting baby # 18 but I looked it up and its not due until January. I wonder if there are any 'J' names left for this one? I feel kind of bad for the one they named Jinger with a J. I can't even imagine being organized enough to keep any...

    Messiest apartment ever

I think maybe they did find her, there was an update later on in that thread about where her cats were so I guess they finally got in touch with her somehow? I feel really bad for this woman. I think a lot of people who live this way have anxiety and stuff like that where they are really...

Resolved AL - Russellville, Dog digs up foot, Sept 2008 - Not Human

It seems like this is probably a crime of some sort. I tried to search but doesn't look like it has been posted yet? A dog brought home a childs foot and police are trying to figure out who it belongs to and where the rest of this childs body is. It sounds like the foot was only outside for a...

Little girls hand severed by jump rope

That is just awful and scary. I hope they were able to reattach her hand, they don't seem to have released the results of the surgery yet. Poor girl:(

Oklahoma Tax Commission sends 2 students a $325k tax bill after reading their Myspace

It really sounds like the Oklahoma Tax Commission did just get their tax estimates from the Myspace pages. They also are trying to stick some poor guy who rented them party space 3 times with part of the bill because they think he was part of their 'Kegheadz' group...

    TX TX - Vidor, near I-10, WhtFem 12-20, 72UFTX (UP4574), Skeletal, previous braces, Jan'84

I think she really looks a lot like Diane Dye, I don't see quite as much resemblance to the other girl but she is not far off though. I would definitely send Diane Dye in as a possible match unless I've missed some important detail that would rule her out (?), maybe Dean Marie Peters too as...

    CO CO - Roger Ellison, 17, Cedaredge, 10 Feb 1981 #1

Did the investigator say that they weren't going to do the DNA testing or were they just really unclear? Did you try to contact whoever is in charge on the other end- who is the person/dept in charge of Roger Ellisons case? Maybe they would look into it a little further and see about getting DNA...

    NH NH - Allenstown, Adult Female & 3 Children, found Nov'85 & May'00

Just wanted to post to say that these Jane Does have not been identified yet. I had been hoping that LE had figured out who they are because their pages were taken off Doe Network but they were removed from the site for other reasons. They are still unidentified and the cases are still open...

Identified! TN - Cheatham Co, WhtFem 14-20, 566UFTN, poss hitchhiker, cross bite, poor dental care, Oct'81 - Linda Sue Karnes

Was Ellen Akers ruled out? That 1991 date is not the correct one, she did disappear in 1981 if thats what you were thinking of. The website linked a few posts back just got the date wrong.
