I had the same thought but assumed that being a maintenance hanger it didn't have to be close to the runways or terminal.
That said I wanted to find hangar #53 (it has the bright red roof) on a map ... this wasn't easy, all the satalite imagery for this area is old. I did find this picture...
I can't see a drug trafficer sending a 'mule' vehicle across the border without a VERY good description (incl. the obvious, license plate) of the vehicle. Nor can I see them calling to make an appointment to view the truck if indeed it was the one they were looking for. If the package was on...
It's the top of the truck used for moving their equipment, the rest is hidden below the corn/crop. You can see the blue light bar if you zoom in. Here is another picture of it...
The red Mohawk was from 2 years ago in Baja. The burner phone was found threw TB's phone records, with this they found the other seller NOT DM, the other sellers description of the tattoo led to DM.
The problem is SB's description was so generic they would have never been caught, it was the tattoo that the other seller noticed that made the difference on finding DM. Without the tattoo I think LE would still be looking for suspects #1 and #2.
Everyone is convinced you couldn't get out or the truck because the doors wouldn't open ... well the windows do ... it would be tight but manageable even if the truck was only inches from the side of the trailer. Here is a shot from the front of a Dodge Ram 3500, noticed how the cab rounds in...
To add to this ... MS was picked up ±1.8km away, or ±22 minute walk away, from home (using the trails). If he fled this would explain why they were checking the trails around his house. [Here is the map]
"Smich was arrested on foot Wednesday morning on Dorval Drive" although a neighbour said she saw a "10-person tactical team barge through the front door of Smich's home"

If LE were following MS they would...
I find it very interesting that MS has gotten quite a bit of support from friends whereas DM had none that I am aware of. Was DM the one with money that no one actually liked?
LE's comments are confusing to say the least.
What if they have found two unidentifiable bodies (not remains) of whom they beleive to be suspect #2 and #3? This would explain why there is no danger.
LE did suggest they would be finishing up on the farm on Saturday or weather may be the issue, we had a lot of rain last night and I can't imagine those fields would be easy to work in if soaked; there is also a chance of thundershowers today.
That is someone elses property. If you look at google earth you can see this is a seperate lot with a fence around it, street view confirms this with a different lot number.
That said I can't make out what the extents of DM's property would be. How many acres did he have?
Maybe he did identify suspect #2 and they are looking for or watching him right now.
This would explain why a sketch of suspect #2 hasn't been released.
It may have to do with the the fact that there was a lot of money at stake and most likely huge insurance payouts. If it was obvious either way they would have made their ruling, it suggests it wasn't an obvious suicide.
