Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

Why? He had zero chance at getting his kids back anyways. What is wrong with him negotiating for a reduced sentence? Him staying in jail 1 year longer wouldn't have given him custody of his kids upon release.

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

I have no problem with judges making comments. I do have a problem with this judge making the comments he did since his rulings are the reason the plea deal happened in the first place. Preside over a fair trial and he wouldn't have had the opportunity to make the comments.

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

No doubt about that. Of the 4 trials going on during that time, I was most sure about her guilt, followed by Jason Young, then Brad Cooper. She is found NG, JY gets a hung jury and BC gets gap guilty verdict. I was slightly confused with the results.

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

I'm asking because i don't know....does Canada recognize verdicts in the US? As in, would he have the same limitations as someone convicted of 2nd degree murder in Canada? Or if a US citizen was convicted in Canada, would the US treat them as a convicted felon upon release and return to the...

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

Yeah, HCs statement was just weird. If they were pretty sure they would get a conviction, they should have gone to trial. Otherwise, don't complain about the terms of the deal you offered. Justice was not served with that plea deal. It was first degree or not guilty.

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

This article just pisses me off. I would live an explanation from the DA as to why they wouldn't release the hard drive to the defense team until after the 18 month window from google when it was requested months earlier. And I believe it was agreed to give them the drive and the DA office then...

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

The cheers for being granted a new trial were mainly because the rulings in the first trial were extremely unfair. Most of us just want to see a fair trial.....and that has nothing to do with the Cooper case. The trial wasn't fair and Gessner probably shouldn't be a judge after that travesty...

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

This is the only case I have followed on this site (except JY to a much smaller degree). I joined this site because of this case. I've been captivated by it from the start. What drew me in were some of the life parallels I hade with Cooper. I work in VoIP, I graduated from NC State, I have 2...

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

Well obviously he is since he also swore under oath that he didn't do it. Either way, he's now a convicted murderer and it's over. I absolutely hate this outcome though. This is not a 2nd degree murder.

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

Forget guilt or innocence here. Why wouldn't he give us his children here? He has to serve at least another 6-9 years. I doubt very seriously anyone would try to regain custody of teenagers that they haven't lived with for 12-15 years after pleading guilty to killing their mother. And what...

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

Maybe the computer has personal pictures on it. That would be the only thing that would make sense to me. Anyways, he admitted it, so he is guilty. I do find it "funny" that Gessner expressed his contempt. If it wasn't for Gessner, Cooper would be spending the rest of his life in jail. We...

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

Nothing to lose? 7 years versus the rest of your life is plenty to lose. The google search is damning evidence. If the defense can't show beyond a reasonable doubt that it was planted, then he would likely be found guilty again. Even if it was planted, proving it was planted is not an easy...

Brad Cooper Pleads Guilty to 2nd Degree Murder of Nancy Cooper

I hate this outcome. This isn't a 2nd degree murder. If the google evidence wasn't planted, then this was premeditated 1st degree murder. If it was, then it is not guilty. I get why both parties would agree to this, but it isn't justice for either side.

    Brad Cooper: Appeal info

That doesn't apply in this case. There is no indication at all that BC was actively involved in an affair at the time of the murder.

I agree with everything you said here. I was just pointing out that the initial vote was 2/2/8 and then 10/2 at the end of the day. Of course, it was months later when the book came out, so memories could have changed by then. I got that info right after the trial. I know one thing....I'm...

Well she is certainly wrong. I have a neighbor that was a juror and that I have spoken with for several hours about the trial (see my thread on discussions with a juror). The initial vote was 2 guilty, 2 not guilty, 8 undecided. The vote at the end of the day was 10 guilty, 2 not guilty.

I'm so glad Zellinger failed in his attempt to become DA. I hope his actions in the Cooper trial had something to do with it.

    Brad Cooper: Appeal info

If Brad did it, then the likely scenario was he came across the location while running or biking. I doubt he would have used google to search for a location to dump a body.
