tovarisch, your posts are intriguing, and you belong here as this is a thread solely for IDI theorists. Nothing you've written should have anyone upset, RDI or not. :loveyou:
"While the couple acted strangely and there were inconsistencies in their story, FBI criminal profiler Robert Ressler said the evidence pointed to an intruder.
Ressler said JonBenet knew her killer, who possibly came from a small circle of family friends."...
DeDee, I don't think AK intended to be impolite at all. There may be accurate information contained in the Bonita Papers, but there are inaccuracies as well. Alone, this source simply doesn't meet the reliability standard.
The stun gun marks, the strangulation, the head blow, the sexual assault, etc; everything that child endured was above and beyond all an abduction necessitates. How, exactly, do you surmise a kidnapping plan was botched?
I haven't ruled out the possibility, but it isn't necessarily the scenario I favor.
"Inept amateurs" might have easily botched a kidnapping, but to be capable of all this case requires, one would have to possess characteristics that far outweigh any measure of ignorance.
Presuming this was a kidnapping gone wrong, some IDIs theorize the perp tried to use the suitcase, or it's contents, to conceal and restrain JonBenét. (Hence, the CBI's fiber analysis linking the sham & duvet to the victim's clothing.)
If the perp's primary motive was a ransom collection, then...
Obviously, the motive doesn't appear to be "sex". If "power" was a driving force, wouldn't the act of rape have left the perp a little too vulnerable?...
Why, even if it was a "kidnapping gone wrong", would the killer risk removing JonBenét from the house? A live child presents risks as does a dead child.
The BPD could hardly have been less prepared for the "norm".
The wine cellar was void of windows and had only one door. The locking mechanism was located on the exterior wall, just above the door:
If the door was latched prior to entry, the killer had to unlatch it to move JonBenét inside. Thus, he/she would be aware of the "lock". According to...

"Anti-Felon Identification (AFID): A system to deter misuse through enhanced accountability, AFID includes bar-coded serialization of each cartridge and disperses confetti-like ID tags upon activation."
"Dots", aka AFIDs, are ejected each time a TASER cartridge is deployed...
