I was a fence sitter for a bit. Maybe even right until around the beginning of deliberations, then saw what the jury didn't see. If the jury gave MS less then M1 they would have never lived that down. IMO..
Although they could have gotten their DNA many many times in the last 3 years it would never have been able to be introduced into a trial if need be.
Now they can actually link their DNA to other crimes, should it be there ;)
In the Ryan Lane murder, there was still a sentencing hearing.
You would also think that those victim impact statements stay on record to and can be used at parole hearings... the victims are not always around to deliver more statements when/if that time comes.

In the Picton case it says:
If the jury panel drops below 10 members, a mistrial is declared. Then the whole process would begin again.

From what I see the stats are only up to 2012 and not really a lot to see...

We all knew that DG was re-arrested, so if he IS the suspect then why protect his identity?? As well, DG has that high profile criminal defense lawyer... I don't see any plea bargains being made right now. I see a publicity ban in the very near future and we will all meet back here again in a...
I've been reading all the threads, just haven't put in my 2 cents yet. Just a little confused about something...
We know that DG was re-arrested, but am I missing something?? I thought I saw that he checked out of the hotel this morning, but LE is saying suspect was arrested at 130am. Are we...

How do we not know that there isn't another FB account out there?
I know many people that have more then one. Remember, his residence(s) were searched, we don't know what LE got from his computer!
Them themselves are evidence in a murder case...if they toss them in Gen Pop and they get killed...there goes any justice for Tim Bosma!
It feels good to know he/they get to sit alone ALL day long and think about what they did :)
Maybe LE is stumped, surely they've torn computers apart...questioned so many POI's and are getting no where. They are spending tons of money on this case and are at a dead end.
...OR maybe they're hoping that by saying there is no 3rd person, someone out there will get sloppy and do something...
As seen in the murder of Noelle Paquette back on NYE, they still haven't released the COD due to a publication ban on that case. You are right, we won't hear anything until trial, unless someone close to case spills it...could be a couple years!
ETA...the COD is evidence...
I noticed that as well, the kids toys and trampoline. Why would he bury something so close to his neighbours property...doesn't make much sense! Unless of course if he knew they were away. Most obvious is the least obvious? It's still his property...
