Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder

I can't speak directly to jury duty but from my viewpoint...yoga pants are ALWAYS acceptable attire! MOO

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder

All I'm saying is that one can only drive by that spot every day and see fast food, and a myriad of other garbage marking the spot, for so long before it starts to get under your skin....

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder

Let me know if you notice any wildflowers growing. :)

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder

Comments like this give us a good perspective on how much impact these events have had on many of us. Kristen French's body was found about 5 minutes from my house along a road that I take to work every morning. I think about her every, single time I drive by. If we, people who never knew these...

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder

BBM This jumped out at me, since reading the article about what the jury didn't hear. They were only shown the one gun. It was indicated in that article that the one photo actually had 2 guns in it but one was cropped out. Since those articles, there has been discussion about whether both had a...

The downside to that is....their reporting is always going to take into consideration who is funding them and skew their stories accordingly. MOO

    Verdict Watch Discussion Thread

You know what I find interesting about these types of trials? There is no question whatsoever that these two were involved. The question is to what extent. My point is, if after reviewing all of the evidence and climbing these decision trees over and over, the jury somehow finds them both...

They are going to need 2 days and an arborist to figure out all those trees before they can even start to deliberate!!!

I am in utter shock that the text about the gun coming back dirty was disallowed. How is that possible? That is a pretty significant omission!!!! What must that have felt like for the Bosma family??? Hearing evidence that would have a massive impact on the trial, argued out by the Defense? Just...

BBM Isn't that the exact scenario they are faced with? Help me here...what am I missing? MOO

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.13.16 - Day 60 - Charge to jury - Day 2

They just had to get one more of these in before the case is handed over to the jury, eh?

Bosma Murder Trial 06.10.16 - Day 59 - Charge to jury

I remember latching onto this detail when trying to account for missing time. He did say they went down Book Rd towards Brantford...he could see them for just under a KM before they were out of site. Here was one of his statements that I grabbed from the daily recap thread. Rick Bullman -...

Bosma Murder Trial 06.10.16 - Day 59 - Charge to jury

That is actually how I interpreted it....instructing the jury to consider why the Defense lawyer corroborated certain parts of the story with witnesses while not doing the same with other witnesses. Did he not ask the questions to certain people because he knew it would work against his defense...

Bosma Murder Trial 05.31.16 - Day 56 - Closing Arguments Begin

BBM.... Uhm....and how does he know the dog didn't react? Maybe he started barking but Bullman didn't hear what the dog heard? This is getting ludicrous. MOO

Bosma Murder Trial 05.31.16 - Day 56 - Closing Arguments Begin

Yep. I made a comment during the cross-examination of MS that DM's lawyers are pretty much resigned to the fact that he is going down for 1st Degree but they want to make sure MS goes down with him. MOO

Bosma Murder Trial 05.31.16 - Day 56 - Closing Arguments Begin

Or are they going to take back roads because there is less chance of anyone seeing anything suspicious? Which would account for the extra time getting to Bobcat. MOO

Bosma Murder Trial 05.31.16 - Day 56 - Closing Arguments Begin

I thought of that at one point but it is quite plausible that the only key that was used for the test drive was the truck key. It isn't unusual for people to only provide the key to the vehicle when selling a truck and allowing a test drive. I know that the two times I have test drove a vehicle...

Bosma Murder Trial 05.31.16 - Day 56 - Closing Arguments Begin

That has been my view as well. I remember noting that when SS texted back something along the lines of "Did I do something wrong, I don't want to cause you any problems" and DM responded something like "You don't cause me problems, you solve my problems" That exchange led me to believe that SS...
