Interesting you should bring that up, Beesy.
In good fiction, everything must have a logical and reasonable explanation. A good plot is nothing more than a sequence of cause-effect events that move in increasing intensity toward a climax. And everything must have an explanation. That's why...
:waitasec: As a novelist, I have to be all of the characters in my stories, including the bad guys. And I often have to imagine how I would commit certain crimes. Thus, I've been applying my somewhat morbid imagination to the question of what it might look like if I tried to cut my own throat...
Hey. I may be overweight and stultified, but I'm definitely not a housewife.
Seriously, though, I don't see what your problem is. If you don't find a post of particular interest, scroll past it. I do it all the time.

I absolutely agree, Jeana! Just because most of us here are convinced of Darlie's guilt does not mean that we should ignore or cavalierly discard the input of someone who brings the opposing viewpoint. Particularly when that person has a viewpoint that is as distinctive as G.I.'s
I said it...
First, welcome to the forum G.I. As I said way back somewhere in this thread (in one of my boring off topic moments ;)), the purpose of a discussion board is to discuss. I appreciate you sharing your unique perspective on this case with us.
Second, I'm curious about your reference to John...
Hmmm. Haven't tried that one, but I did do a full rewrite of my novel "Blind Sight" while flat on my back. I was really thankful for a "stomach top" computer.
I followed it in the news pretty closely, but at that particular time I was pastoring a little church and had a couple crazy people of my own that I was having to deal with. They kept me way too busy to allow me to pay much attention to Darlie's plight.
My older brother would agree with you!
Actually, I've found that sitting in a recliner all day is very hard on my back. I guess that means I can legitimately say that writing is a back-breaking job.
Nah. I can be pretty lazy sometimes. How else can you explain the fact that I wrote my latest book on a laptop while sitting in my recliner all day? (Rough work, I know, but somebody's gotta do it!) ;)
Jim
My sixteen-year-old son has always had a problem with his mouth, and often would "rag" on his younger sister.
We did (or at least tried) the compliment thing, too. He was quite creative at times with his "compliments". (You have nice ears?) Sigh. No wonder parents get gray hair (or in my...
Well, Mary, I guess you'll have to excuse my laziness. I work two full time jobs and, although I think it would be wonderful to be able read every single post on a topic, that's not possible.
Jim
Hi Mary,
No disrespect intended, but if all we have to do is read the old posts, what's the point of posting at all? This case has been hashed and rehashed so many times, there's probably no topic that hasn't been tossed around quite a bit.
The point of a discussion board is to discuss. If...
Which begs the question, "How did the bruises get there?"
I believe that Darrin knows Darlie did it. Perhaps there was a husband-wife "discussion" about the murders after she got home that got a little intense? Just a guess.
Other ideas?
Jim
One of the questions (smokescreens?) that is frequently brought up by supporters of Darlie is, "Why weren't the photos of Darlie's bruised arms shown at trial?" The implication, of course, is that had the jury seen these photos, they'd have believed the intruder theory and acquitted Darlie...
Good point, Jeana.
Being in prison ministry, I see first hand the effect that just "regular" prison has on marriages, and it's not good. Some marriages do survive the prison experience but they're few and far between. And generally it's the wives on the outside who try to preserve a marriage...
