VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

Does ANYONE living in the Courtland area have coordinates for the infamous "Sandbox" so I can pull it up on GPS? I know it is east of Courtland, past I-55. I believe it is out near the intersection of McNeely Road and Hentz Road. But I could not spot anything that looked like an old gravel...

BUF, Wow. Looking ahead, I hope Jessica's big sister gets a chance to read every word of this in the courtroom during the sentencing phase of this trial. Regards, Clouseau

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

UndiscoveredTruth, Miraculous Exception on the part of the victim, Erroneous Reception on the part of the eye witnesses, or Duplicitous Deception on the part of the accused? I don't think any of those except the last two will be deciding factors this second time around. Regards, Clouseau

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

As with the first trial, DNA testing of Jessica's key chain by Scale Biological Lab was inconclusive. The first type of testing, autosomal, which examines 16 targeted areas of the 23 pairs of chromosomes contained in every human cell excluded Tellis from the mixture. However, secondary testing...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

Katerz, The doctor who testified yesterday as an expert witness in burns stated he had once received third degree burns over 20% of his body. He described it as the most intense pain he had ever felt, including broken bones and a rupture colon. He could not begin to imagine the excruciating...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

According to Cathy Russon @cathyrusson the defense plans to call three witnesses during the retrial: Tellis' mother, his sister, and a firefighter. The defense didn't call any witnesses during the first trial, apparently confident they could convince the jury the prosecution had no case against...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

Alethea, Early on, before more facts were revealed during the first trial, many of us were suspicious of the first fire on the evening of Dec. 6th, 2014. One fire in such a small community would be unusual, but two on the same night? Some of us thought it might have been a diversion set to...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

"Mystery Man" solved -- Willie Taylor. The car tag from concerned first responders was indeed traced, and person(s) involved cleared by LE. Taylor's wife had heard about the fire and could not reach her daughter by phone. Since she lived near the scene, she was concerned about her well-being. So...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

Wow, Sherry Flowers' testimony was explosive. It places an individual about Tellis' description (male, African American, medium-small build) walking along Main Street toward Courtland the evening of the murder, about the time that it was starting to get dark, between her home at 74 Main Street...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

Something significant, to me anyway, emerged during this morning's testimony by Daryl House (sp?), one of the two deputies who responded to the scene before Jessica was taken by helicopter to Memphis. During cross examination, the defense asked him to read something from the bottom of his...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

One thing came up again today that I was never able to resolve in my mind during the last trial. Several responders reported a suspicious person on scene who had to be warned away from the taped off crime scene area multiple times. He was described as a black middle-aged male, wearing dark...

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

Not much change so far, even with the order in which the same prosecution witnesses as the first trial are being called. One exception is the insertion of one new witness as the third witness in this trial, Dr. Carolyn Higdon (PhD). After questioning from both sides, she was accepted as an...

d4j, FYI: There are two links on the Law & Crime page for Jessica Chambers live streaming video. The first one at the top includes "top notch legal analysis" along with the trial, but one toward the bottom of their webpage is raw feed -- just the facts, Ma'am, just the facts... Regards, Clouseau

VERDICT WATCH MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #4

MsArk, I think it was to provide maximum benefit to the maximum number involved. Batesville is not that far from Courtland, so the the families involved and others in the community interested in attending the trial do not have that far to drive each day. Best, Clouseau

Getting only a test pattern on Law & Order live streaming feed (10:15 am EDT). Let's hope it's due to a courtroom delay and not technical difficulties.

MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #3 *MISTRIAL*

BUF, I think they actually DISMISSED the alternatives before deliberations began in the last trial, since at that point in time they knew whether all the already impaneled jurors had survived the ordeal. Regards, Clouseau

MS - Jessica Chambers, 19, Panola County, Dec 2014 #3 *MISTRIAL*

BUF, Thanks for relaying that. Do you have a breakdown without the alternates included? The overall gender mix seems about right, but the racial mix seems to be the very opposite of the demographics for Oktibbeha County, MS, in 2017, 2018 that I had posted earlier, which were: White 59% Black...
