Slight update- the friend of Teresa's i mentioned above reached out to the regional contact listed on namus. Was told that a comparison was made (which is interesting because namus doesn't have the doe from 97 listed in rule-outs on Teresa's namus page, nor is Teresa in the does rule outs.)...

I called JoCo PD today to see if i could get confirmation regarding this. The answer i got was that while the remains found in 97 were brought to their attention, there is no confirmation on file that the remains are Peroni's. Which struck me as a really weird way of saying "we don't know"...
