I couldn't find any archived mention of Cindy's disappearance online, and COVID interrupted my ability to snoop at the local libraries and whatnot to see if any hard copies of past editions of local papers exist from around that time... but that doesn't mean I'm giving up on this one. Josephine...
Interesting fact in this case- in 2018, a protective order was granted by the Clatsop County courts to seal all records related to Joan Hall's disappearence from the public. I recently became part of the "team" pushing for a resolution in Joan's case, we were sent this when we issued a FOIA...
Update- I contacted the Seal Beach PD and requested the files on Melinda's disappearance. I had a lot of questions after receiving the files, and the head investigator reached out to me. He wants to pull the case and have somebody on his team look a little harder at it.
Caron was released in...
I'd like to add that Melinda's boyfriend at the time, Harvey Anthony Caron, later told police that Melinda had died of a drug overdose and that he'd disposed of her body.
No charges were ever brought against him in the case.
He is also a POI in the case of Dennis Kaye Woods, a neighbor of...
Strange how Namus doesn't have much under Circumstances of Disappearance. Literally just says she was known to hitchhike. No mention of Texas.
They found human remains near Sweet Home yesterday. No information beyond that, but I ended up here after looking into Namus entries from Linn...
I live in a Josephine county. Wonder if the local papers would have anything archived that could give more information about her disappearance. Will check and post a follow up
Slight update- the friend of Teresa's i mentioned above reached out to the regional contact listed on namus. Was told that a comparison was made (which is interesting because namus doesn't have the doe from 97 listed in rule-outs on Teresa's namus page, nor is Teresa in the does rule outs.)...
Oh, also. I contacted a woman who was a friend of Teresa's. She said that the boyfriend last seen with Teresa, a fellow named Marcus, was later arrested for stabbing a girl in California and allegedly confessed to this girl that he'd done worse to somebody in Oregon.
Nobody can remember the...
I'm wondering if that means they either don't have Teresa's DNA or they don't have the funds to extract DNA from the Jane Doe.
Knowing Oregon she's probably been cremated by now. :(
I called JoCo PD today to see if i could get confirmation regarding this. The answer i got was that while the remains found in 97 were brought to their attention, there is no confirmation on file that the remains are Peroni's.
Which struck me as a really weird way of saying "we don't know"...
A Light For Ericka • A podcast on Anchor
Been working on digging deeper into Ericka's disappearance and spreading awareness via a podcast I've started. Feel free to give it a listen, I'm compiling information for a second episode to be released sometime this month, maybe early October depending...
Sad that there's been no activity on this thread since around the time she disappeared. I live in the area and just heard about her disappearance a few weeks ago, which definitely says something about how Media and LE have been handling the case (or not handling it).
A few articles i've seen...
So.... there's not much activity on this thread, but I would like to bring up a possibility that I uncovered a few weeks ago.....
Do you think she may have been headed West after her escape? There's a Jane Doe (we call her Annie Doe) who was discovered in Oregon in 1971, some of the facial...
That would be pretty cool, I have the 19th off from work, so PM me. I haven't been on here in a while, looks like I checked the message board at the right time!
Also, I'd like to mention that I'm researching this case and compiling as much information as possible to pass the info on to John Lordan in the hopes that he'll make a video on his LordanARTS channel on Youtube. Spreading Annie's facial reconstructions and information around to as many places...
This is a very good point. I just finished reading the entire thread, I wouldn't rule it out. If her head was covered by her coat, it's likely that the person who killed her felt some sort of remorse or knew her personally. So the 'going on a trip with friends or family' angle is entirely...
