I can't remember all the details of the trial, but I got the impression the defence did question the evidence back then and suggested possible alternative causes of death/injury other than foul play for all the incidents. It was the sheer volume of incidents that occurred while LL was on duty...
Agreed - from the brief report on the BBC News at 1 o'clock, it appears to be a new interpretation of the existing evidence rather than actual new evidence.
We're all delighted that Letby has been caught for her crimes.
But let's not delude ourselves - she's just one of many criminals at large in our hospitals.
Nurses/doctors harming patients; doctors/surgeons abusing nurses in operating theatres and elsewhere.
It's a a nightmare environment.
