His bail conditions have also been significantly relaxed, I believe the alcohol ban was lifted and his passport returned, he met his new GF during December on holiday in Mozambique.

oh grief, Samantha is going to crack under Roux imo!! Hope Nel went over everything with her well from all sides. I also want to clarify, there appears some confusion about the "shooting" the robots...we also say you shoot the robot if you go through it when the light is red...so its unclear...

I know, very bad timing and while the world is watching. thanks for reminding me, I actually wanted to read that article but forgot about it! Anyhow, I don't want to derail the thread with politics as that's all what these black outs are really about!

Oh lol!!! Yep, it effects the whole country, they roll the black outs in 2.5h periods for different areas. Today we were out from 8-10.30am, 12-2pm and again at 4-6.30pm. Other areas are shut down during the other times. It's until April 2. It's very frustrating because naturally nothing...

Hahaha!! Lol :p Clearly they do,didn't hear about any outages today in court while the rest of the country came to a stand still for hours on end.

Just a note for interests sake, I'm not sure how the proceeding are going to go in the following days, our country's electricity is "apparently" under strain and they started load shedding today, we will be loosing 4-6 hours of electricity during the day ( we have been without for most of the...

Shane, I find this the most intriguing. I wonder why it hasn't been brought up in court more, both sides have almost dismissed it as being irrelevant but I think it's a huge statement to make from the witness.

It's pretty much the same for the uk, bathroom is the shower/ bath, we call the room with just a toilet the loo ie: going to the loo, going to spend a penny haha :p I have mentioned before that I have never come across a home in SA that has an enclosed loo INSIDE the bathroom, it's always...

We do have a emergency number but its not very reliable, police and ambulances take notoriously long to arrive. If you need medical attention, you try get to the hospital yourself. We call our local Neighbourhood Watch in case of emergency, and majority SA people make use of private security...

Thank you. I'm married to a British subject so we have options but not quite ready to throw in the towel. This country does have a lot of potential and it's very beautiful :) And our criminals don't care for security, wealth, race etc. OP is no more privileged in existence than I am when it...

Not necessarily, if the truth was told from the beginning, if anyone got into trouble or lost their license, I believe it would have been the licensed gun owner, for having it unholstered in a public place and for negligence. OP could have quite possibly have walked away with nothing more than a...

I don't know hey, Roux is one of the best in this country, he is very highly respected, I wouldn't underestimate him, I don't know what game he is playing but I'm sure as hell convinced he is up to something...and soon enough I'm sure we will find out :)

    Trial Discussion Thread #1 - 14.03.03-06, Day 1-4

Truth be told, I don't know anyone that owns a gun, we have incredibly strict gun laws. Yes, we have very high levels of crime, hijacking and home invasions are daily occurrences but I believe there is crime everywhere in the world. The difference with us is the level of violence shown here, a...

Just saw this: Looks like the phones may be a dud avenue, Debora is a respected journalist so don't think this is rumour. All in all, disappointing day, nothing significant came to light, and all the bloody breaks wasting court time.

    Trial Discussion Thread #1 - 14.03.03-06, Day 1-4

Yes I know but was just pointing out that OP has already stated HE was screaming at some point before the shooting, I would imagine its up to the pros to refute that it was in fact Reeva screaming. I would think if it came down to Burger and OP, it becomes a case of she said, he said???. Her...

He actually did in his statement, he claims he went towards the bathroom after hearing a noise and screamed at the "intruders" to get out his house BEFORE shooting. Im guessing if this is to be believed, it was shouted with some anxiety/urgency and panic.

I agree, also, my understanding of this: is that she was in fact NOT woken up by screams as she testified but by her husband jumping out of bed when he heard screaming????

Really?? Last year I posted the links to 2 SA stories with similar circumstances, the one being a rugby player who fired a shot through his bedroom window into his yard when he thought someone was trying to steal his daughters car, it was in fact her he shot dead, when she was attempting to...

Haha, well...I'm still going to agree to disagree and my stance on the matter hasn't changed since last year, I still find his story plausible and a possibility. The witnesses so far have not really impressed me. Burger was strong but as been noted, a bit too strong. I'm still trying to figure...
