So he's a smart you man that doesn't want to be bothered by working to get the things he wants. There are a lot of people in our prisons that fit that description. Which is right where he belongs.
I guess my question here is why would LE want to pin this murder on an 11 year old boy? It seems to me that they would go out of their way to give a child the benefit of the doubt and not arrest him unless the evidence is pretty conclusive.
I'm sorry, but this statement is incorrect. There may be no physical evidence linking them to the crime, but Jesse's confession and the statements attributed to Damien and Jason were admitted to court as evidence. It's the jury's job to decide on the credibility of the evidence. They...
Does anybody realize that the "Manhole Theory" seems just as ridiculous to people that believe the WM3 are guilty, as the prosecutions theory seems to WM3 supporters?
All of what you say here is factually true. But in reality, most people believe that an innocent person isn't going to sit quietly if they are on trial for their life. Even in our U.S., the jury isn't supposed to infer guilt from a defendant not testifying - but I think we'd be naive to think...
I see nobody mentioned that evidence was presented at trial that both Echols and Baldwin confessed to the crimes also. There isn't much evidence in this case, but I wouldn't expect much when the bodies were found in water. However, supporters seem awfully quick to discount some of the evidence...
I guess I don't understand how your sighting of the vehicle, driver and Sheila leads to you being certain where they were taken and held after the sighting?
Totally agree. I watched the Dateline and these were big questions that weren't answered. If he went to the bar with his girlfriend and another friend, why did they stay behind when he got kicked out? Why didn't he get his phone and wallet before leaving? Why didn't he have a coat in that...
To get a new SS card, you need a birth certificate. To get a replacement SS card with the same SSN, you don't need a birth certificate. And SSA would have the address for any SS card mailed out.
The book gives the possibility of a very specific location. I'm surprised they don't use ground penetrating radar to see if the bodies could be located.
Anytime a person applies for a Social Security number, the computer runs a check on the name and DOB. If they already have a number, even if they don't know what it is, a new number would not be assigned. SSA would send her a new card with the original number.
The latest Morgan Harrington thread is here:

You mean another case of someone found guilty getting off on a technicality? I heard about it. I also know that the jury that listened to her entire trial found her guilty.
I'm just about finished reading the book on this case. With the DNA evidence, I really only see two possibilities here:
1) He did it and he's getting what he deserves.
2) Someone purposely doctored the evidence. For that to be the case, someone would have decided that after years they...
Waltzing Matilda - very well thought reasoning about picking the day for the murder. The big question then becomes motive and why someone wanted to kill them. Was it revenge against the parents or someone targeting Tom or Shirlee for some other reason?
A possible motive seems pretty clear to me. Hennis' wife was out of town and he knew the Eastburn husband was out of town. Maybe they had flirted when he picked up the dog. So he goes there to try to start an affair. She turns him down, something in him snaps. Stuff like this that's not...
We're actually talking about fabricating DNA in this case? Really? So somebody just decided after 20 years that something had to be done? And they fabricated the DNA before they knew if the military would prosecute or even having the legal ability to prosecute?
Watch out for the black...
I think the prejudicial value of horrific pictures is greatly overstated. I was on a jury in a murder trial. The crime scene pictures they showed us were awful - blood everywhere. The pictures didn't make me want to convict the individual any more or less. If the other evidence didn't show...
