Great post. You've clearly done your homework on Milat. I don't want to derail this thread so this will be my last mention of Milat, but I highly recommend people find 51 minutes to listen to this first class interview with Clive Small (the man who headed up the investigation into backpacker...

Wow really? With respect I see it totally differently. Have you read much about Milat? Amongst other things, he'd stab them rendering them paralysed. He was the sickest & most twisted kind imaginable. I'll be utterly shocked if we learn that CSK had as many victims as Milat or if his victims...

CSK is a very different beast to Milat though... IM spent a good deal of time @ scenes whereas I doubt CSK did. And IM enjoyed killing in and of itself whereas for CSK I believe it was primarily about rape. Although I understand that rape is also about power & control. So yes, there are certain...

IMO the Police used the TRG to make the arrest from a PR POV. I think it instills confidence in the general public. Police had already lost a lot of brownie points in this case. No need to pussy foot around once they had their man. But that's not to say the other reasons put forward on here...

@trueblue2017, I apologise if you've previously addressed this, but do you have strong feelings / firm beliefs about the accused's innocence or guilt in these matters, or are you keeping an open mind?

There's an ignore feature which allows you to ignore certain posters.

If I'm not wrong, the events took place around long weekends.... I reckon with a bit of self-sleuthing, I could work out where I was and who I was with on, say, Labour Day 1996 or Queen's Birthday 1995 etc. No I'm not 100% sure it's BREs DNA but as he's been arrested and charged with 2...

Really interesting reading, cheers. Certainly not what I'd have expected (wrt to overt surveillance) but there you go.

http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2015-10-16/reports-of-breakthrough-in-claremont-serial-killer-investigation/6859620 The above article has a tiny bit of information from the FBI profiler. Basically 'find the guy who committed the KK cemetery rape. He's your guy'. Not bad hey. Surely if the...

Can anyone shed any light on anything the profilers said about CSK? Just wondering if it fits BRE. It just hit me again how utterly brazen CSK was to take a third victim from the SAME location. This is absurd when you think about it. The other thing bugging me, is how do the police...

<modsnip> Frankie, have you ever met BRE? Have you been friends with TE for long? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm quite fascinated.

Sorry but there are other options beside the 2 you mention. Friendly looking couple or any other ruse. Threatened with a firearm. Blitz (but I think unlikely). I hope we learn the truth about how each girl was picked up. The only 'crime' each girl committed was allowing herself to become...

Just curious, what line of work mandates that its employees be DNA tested?

Agree he was incredibly brazen and no doubt he thought he would never be caught. But still insist police would've been careful not to let him know he was under surveillance. (Not saying you said anything different mandymaree).

Everything you wrote here is true, but has missed the point of my post, which was that the police wouldn't have wanted to tip off their suspect. I wrote my post in response to others who inferred that police may have tipped off BRE by playing mind games as part of some bizarre overt surveillance.

Pretty sure everyone's aware that police said something along the lines of 'one of the ways we can crack this case is by locating specific pieces of jewellery'. If the suspect knew they were onto him he'd quickly dispose of said jewellery.
