GUILTY - Sidney Moorer RETRIAL for Kidnapping Heather Elvis, 9 Sept 2019 #3

I think we were all appalled by Judge Dennis's performance in the first SM kidnapping trial, starting with allowing a friend of the defense attorney on the jury (face palm emoji here). That right there was a travesty of justice. We could only wish his daughter would have called and told him how...

GUILTY - Sidney Moorer RETRIAL for Kidnapping Heather Elvis, 9 Sept 2019 #3

Referring back to the original quote, I believe this refers to the current trial, and Dennis's comments re: the "credible evidence" presented by the state in denying motions for a mistrial or directed verdict. The daughter seemed to think his comments could influence the public's opinion. That's...

Ugh. I hadn't thought of it that way. However, I don't think they can really answer this question to any satisfaction. AC has already put forward the lamest possible explanation for this, and along with it the lie that she never had anything to do with washing the truck. Unless I misheard the...

If she testifies, will she too be compelled to appear in prison garb & handcuffs. It seems only fair if the state's incarcerated witness had to appear before the jury that way, that the defense's incarcerated witness should appear the same. (And isn't her prison uniform TEAL? The irony.)

@BrokenNotDefeated. I am glad you are here if it helps to calm your thoughts and to feel supported. I hope you were able to get some sleep last night. I have been here since the beginning but not always actively. I am heartened to learn for the first time that some of your real life friends have...

GUILTY - Sidney Moorer RETRIAL for Kidnapping Heather Elvis, 9 Sept 2019 #3

I dreaded having Dennis on this trial after his behavior in SM’s first trial. He has been more professional this time, has not inserted himself into the proceedings as much with stupid stories, and not as rude and condescending to NL. From his remarks yesterday, he believes SM is guilty, and the...

GUILTY - Sidney Moorer RETRIAL for Kidnapping Heather Elvis, 9 Sept 2019 #3

Yes! That really is the point. SM was the lynchpin in that plan. It could not have happened without him. Judge Dennis made that clear yesterday in his rejection of mistrial or directed verdict— Heather would never have gotten out of & locked her car, taken her cell phone and keys, and gotten...

BBM I understand what you’re saying, but IMO there is always another solution before one resorts to murder. He may have felt he had no other solution, but SM always had a choice. In the beginning I thought he might have a conscience and give it all up, but at this point, and after seeing his...

I need to watch AC’s testimony again. I was distracted by work and didn’t get it all. I hated that she mimicked Tammy’s tone and words when NL would ask her something, and AC would say, “That’s what you say, but...” Nancy getting into the enmeshed family system, with issues around loyalty...

GUILTY - Sidney Moorer RETRIAL for Kidnapping Heather Elvis, 9 Sept 2019 #3

It seems like a lot of testimony is left hanging without any conclusions being drawn...until the closing argument when it's all pulled together for the jury. I don't think NL needed to press AC too hard. AC had already lied that she and her bf didn't clean the truck. The jury saw that video with...

Haha, my family would love for me to burn a few things at this point. But definitely would not be burning rags I just used to wash my car!

BBM We all know this of course, sadly, they didn't have nothing to do. They were on a mission with a tragic ending... for Heather.

Perfect avatar! That was a hilarious moment. I bet NL didn't care about being called out by the judge for being "argumentative." The witness should have been called out for being ridiculous. Oh, wait.

I'm sure she doesn't trust SM to find his way out of a paper bag. So she'd like to get up there and do the same bang-up job she did for herself in her own trial. What's a mere 30 years in prison. She is so deluded. And her sister is a mirror image.

Hey hold on, I reuse ziploc bags! But only because I’ve become rather fanatical about reuse/recycle plastics to get them out of my beloved ocean. Just sayin.’

Why is Sidney allowed to talk to his parents?! And while the sound was running sounded like the judge was still in the courtroom!

Ashley sounds exactly like Tammy. Same tone, same inflections, same deflections. I think I missed her testimony during TM’s trial. Why on earth would the defense put her on the stand again, and open the door for the truck/car washing lie? It’s a mind-boggling strategy.

She’s a female attorney crashing into the ole boys’ club (in the South)! How dare she?
