I'm not really sure how to respond because I think psychopathy is not really related to IQ, though many psychopaths are very successful because things like playing fair and being sensitive to other people don't impede their success, and lying and conning which they do very well is often a part...
My esteemed thesis supervisor, who was as knowledgeable as Hare about psychopaths, certainly believed that psychopaths were more likely than others to represent themselves in court.
As an aside, my thank you button has disappeared. Quite frustrating.
We might be being conned into thinking he is intelligent. Do we really have proof of that, or is that a descriptor that got applied to him without evidence?. He didn't get his degree perhaps because he was kicked out for cheating. This could be suggestive of being less intelligent than we think...
Yes, I think grandiose in the sense that he might have thought he could fool LE, and again, perhaps conning and manipulative, as though he could manipulate LE into thinking he was someone else. I didn't realize he was carrying someone else's ID. I thought it was found at his home. Regardless, it...
And even judges. Lots of evidence of grandiosity I think, or over-inflated self worth.
Don't know, but grandiosity might play a role in his desire for recognition on the patent.
I think the murder of NO also shows callous disregard, lack of empathy and perhaps impulsivity but I think I might describe it more as driven by panic about something he did not foresee happening.
You may be right, but I think the criterion requires a sustained pattern (may be contradicting myself here) of impulsive behaviour. We do know that LE does not consider the crime to be driven by impulsivity. At least, I think we do.
Agreed, it would, but we don't know. Also need for stimulation could be shown through risk-taking behaviour patterns, perhaps we can accept his criminal past as evidence of that.
My evidence/rationale:
Glib & Superficial Charm: No info
Grandiose: He took the government to court and believed he didn't need a lawyer. As it turns out, it seems he was right.
Need for stimulation: No info
Pathological Lying: living as someone else for several years (identity theft)
Conning...
I have spent a fair bit of time analyzing what we do and do not know about DG using the Hare Psychopathy Checklist. I am going to break my work into 2 posts because it is long. I, unconventionally, I am going to begin with my conclusions and the 2nd post will explain my thinking and give...
I think this article did a good job of summarizing many of the things that have been discussed on this forum. It strikes me again, with respect to what we know and don't know about DG--wasn't the ADD a "self diagnosis" not arrived at through a psychiatric/psychological assessment, and isn't...
I agree the wording is really important. On the one hand LE was saying this is a missing persons case, we are hopeful we will find all 3. Then why not word the Amber Alert to reflect that he might be seen with either grandparent, though I accept that perhaps GD could have passed for his...
We all get that this is a joke right. http://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/211409/that-news-story-about-the-canadian-man-who-just-left-his-y2k-bunker-after-15-years-is-totally-fake/
"...Though the story is obviously fake, it quickly went viral..."
It frequently come up in MSM that his parents are involved in the community, but that their son is a mystery. Some seemed not to even know they had a son.
I don't think it would be unheard of for a prominent lawyer such as Kim Ross to have secret sources within LE, perhaps not officers, but file clerks or typists, or other folks who may not be paid particularly well paid and might exchange info for money with him. Nevertheless, I think you are...
This raw video footage could provide the view you are looking for at about the 4:18 mark.
