This case really hits home. I remember when Kara disappeared, it was all over the news. I was about her age too when she went missing. It felt like a kick in the gut too when they solved the Kelsey Smith case and Kara was still nowhere to be found. I can't imagine what her mom has been through...

There are other cases where they were thinking it was a person that it turned out not to be, but this just seems out of this world obvious. LE themselves said that the other skull looked much older. They both were obviously murdered by the same person and were last seen with the same person...

I keep trying to google if DNA can be extracted from a toothless skull, but I just kept getting BS articles claiming alien DNA was found in various skulls... :doh: Sigh. I hope no one ever looks at my search history, seriously.

I remember someone stating that femur bones were also found, hopefully one of them belonged to Kara. I think liltexans posted that, not sure!

Is there absolutely no way to pull DNA from a skull without teeth? Surely there is. But I'm not an expert at all.

I'm doubting an entire year too, not sure why those tweeters are saying that/where they're pulling that from. Probably BS.

I'd imagine their dentist would still have those records, especially since it's been a missing persons case. I doubt they'd be thrown out.

That's the only thing I can think of as well. However, I would think they could make the identification through DNA in way less time than an entire year. JMO

I hope Kara's poor family doesn't have to wait much longer, how excruciating. A lot of tweets are saying the identification could take up to a year, not sure where that timeline is coming from. Unimaginable.

A few weeks ago when Toni Anderson was found, I just hoped they could get justice for Kara Kopetsky and Jessica too... Never thought this would all happen so close together. Crazy.

I've read that KY's family is supportive of him and says he's innocent. How could they possibly deny his obvious involvement? Especially now with these two poor girls found tossed away like trash. Makes me sick.

If one was confirmed to be Jessica, surely the other is Kara... Oh what a horrible nightmare :(

If this turns out to be Kara and Jessica, hopefully their mothers will find some ounce of peace knowing they were there together... Such a grim thought, but the only silver lining I can find.
