Victim: Alexis Murphy, 17, missing from Shipman, VA, 03 August 2013 - #7

It would be extremely unusual to see someone riding an ATV down the road in the area. Not ruling out the possibility but he would stick out like a sore thumb doing that.

It's a long way from CVille to Lovingston on an ATV. Highly doubtful IMO. Also, her car was found in downtown Charlottesville so there aren't likely to be many ATVs sitting out around there.

Couple thoughts on why I don't think the POI was CRD. Based on RAT's explanation, Alexis called up her guy and they met shortly thereafter. Therefore CRD was clearly a local. It's a county of 12k people with everyone no more than 1-2 degrees of separation from each other. It wouldn't take...

It was in some of the early timeline articles right after he was arrested. I don't have the link handy but can confirm that I read the same thing.

I considered the fact that she left first too, but IMO that doesn't mean much necessarily. She could have slowed down to let him pass, then followed him. The flagging her down theory is interesting to me and I could see it being possible. But my thoughts are with what his plan would be... He...

Victim: Alexis Murphy, 17, missing from Shipman, VA, 03 August 2013 - #7

Multiple witnesses/video (I believe) have Alexis leaving from Liberty and turning onto 29, then stopping at/near his "house." That coming from the witness who saw her car turn onto Cannery Loop from 29. The secluded road doesn't appear to have been a factor in the abduction. IMO she was at his...

Never even knew that was there. Looks like its just dirt on the food lion side... Maybe gravel over toward where it connects to Mountain Cove rd. Few houses in between, nothing else.

Absolutely agree with this. I know a lot of kids parents in Nelson that smoke, and I don't think it is that far fetched to think she wouldn't have felt uncomfortable around him. Like I mentioned, it's a very trusting community overall.

She certainly didn't need him to help get weed. Getting it cheap, or free, is another story though and could have been enough for a kid in high school. I'm not so sure I'm buying your description of public opinion of the guy though. Nelson tends to be a very trusting community overall. The guy...

My theory is he enticed her with pot, initiated by him at the gas station. Now, to get to that entrance on Cannery Loop you drive right by the driveway to RAT's "house". So the questions I have are why turn into Cannery Loop? Did she feel uncomfortable with meeting at his place? See it and get...

Victim: Alexis Murphy, 17, missing from Shipman, VA, 03 August 2013 - #6

I've got a theory that involves a modification to the story he told. My idea was that he talked to her at the gas station, and offered to either sell her pot or take her to the house of CRG (lied and took her to his camper). I think CRG is real, just a local he's seen around and not involved at...

Suspect: Randy Allen Taylor -- Background

Hmm interesting. I had assumed the car wash bit was referring to the self-service one in Lovingston, but then he wouldn't be working there. Like you said though, could just be holes in the story because RAT isn't being truthful.

Don't think he currently worked in Ruckersville. Did in 2010 when he was a POI of the SC disappearance. His residence was closer to Ruckersville at the time.

The auto place across from the Bojangles is like 30 minutes south of Lovingston, and right outside Lynchburg. People from Lynchburg have other places to meet up because its a decent sized town. There's no indication that RAT was even familiar with this area. He hung out at the...

$100 dollar bills might not be as weird as they sound if he doesn't have a steady job, just does odd jobs like reported. A lot of construction related jobs in the area will just pay their day laborers in cash, with hundreds being not uncommon.

I pointed out that it was pure speculation because the poster I responded to seemed to be taking it too seriously. There is zero evidence that this is even a remote possibility, and I don't really know of many (any?) of this sort of car junk yard in Nelson. It's just very out of left field, and...

The whole junk yard speculation started in this thread and I'm not entirely sure where it came from. Disregard that. RAT wasn't currently working at a used car place, but formerly worked at one in Ruckersville VA.
