I agree with you. I think it is distinctly unlikely that a serving policeman commits a random attack in a London street at 9.30pm; I think it is quite probable that there was an existing friendship or relationship between SE and the arrested man. All JMO but my assumption here is that the estate...

Unfortunately, this is quite common. The clearest example I can think of is that of Maxine Carr, who was the girlfriend of Ian Huntley, the killer in the Soham murders case of the early 2000s. She provided a false alibi for him which led to delays in his eventual arrest. I think it's probably...

(snipped by me) as much as I hate to say this - it’s been the case many a time throughout history, has it not? (History that dates back as far as mobile phones, anyway)

You’re spot on. This is exactly what’s going on. Moral judgments aside, this is the context to a lockdown which has been sustained and isn’t the first of its kind; young people are making their own calls on risk. I don’t blame them. I moved away from the U.K pre-Covid, to a country that has...

Really hoping for the best here, but fearing the worst. Large blocks of flats have large numbers of people within them, many of whom will be awake at all hours of the night. I’m trying to think through the possibilities. :(

I I’m Sarah’s age, in an uncannily similar job, and I keep two phones (a work phone, and a personal phone). I’ll often be using one, with the other in my other hand. I understand that things need to be kept realistic, but I don’t think this is stretching the bounds of possibility by any means.

I don’t think it’s the time or place to be talking lockdown ‘rules’. I don’t, on the whole, condone breaking them, but as many people have discussed in previous threads relating to this case, prolonged and regular lockdowns have caused untold distress to people. It’s naive to assume that...

honestly the chances are quite high at the moment - it’s not an unusual colour or style, it’s a busy area and will have been particularly so over the weekend and during lockdown when most people can only go out to places like the Common for exercise. JMO

Agree that the hat doesn’t look like hers; and there’s no way it could’ve been there over the weekend, perched so visibly on top of a bush, without being spotted and reported. most likely it was found within moments of it being lost/discarded and the person who found it has put it higher up in...

I’m wondering if there’s any significance to the fact that the police haven’t stated explicitly whether or not she made it home. It makes me think perhaps she did. edit: I know that the Met have said they ‘don’t know’ - I’m not sure how it wouldn’t be quite obvious, either way?

Not necessarily; someone upthread mentioned the Sian Callaghan case. That’s a good example of perp and victim having no prior knowledge of one another, but LE had their guy significantly in advance of that being made public.

Phone batteries are so good these days - I struggle to think she could’ve worked from home all day, presumably with the phone charging or at full charge, and lost enough charge over her trip to the friend’s house that it’d go dead on the way back (and also, if you’re on foot, I’m assuming you’d...

This is really distressing. Her friends and family must be fearing the worst now :( I’m almost exactly Sarah’s age and have lots of friends living in this area. I actually moved away from the U.K. fairly recently, although pre-Covid so I can’t comment on what the streets are like at the moment...

UK - 39 bodies found in lorry, Essex, 23 October 2019

I think that’s probably exactly the spot he was planning to let them out. Answers the question of why he’d have broken the seal also. upthread somewhere was also a link to something saying MR’s truck had been in that location frequently in the preceding weeks - so perhaps that’s ‘the’ spot for...

CA - Joey, Summer, Gianni, Joseph Jr McStay Murders - Feb 4th 2010 #8

Hi all - some of you will remember me from McStay discussions back in 2013. Just returning to the case now; a lot of threads to get through and am hoping there might be a link to somewhere that gives day-by-day accounts of the trial thus far? TIA!

I struggle to believe he'd have chosen to sleep in a bin too, no matter how drunk or cold he was. I'm fairly new to following this case - re: the forensics showing no trace of him, could his body have been wrapped in something? Apologies if that's been ruled out.

This is very sad all round IMO. I remember watching Laguna Beach back in the day - I think Michael only made a brief appearance or two throughout the show but it does make it somehow more 'real'. My gut instinct is that he's not far at all from that car. :( Hope I'm wrong, of course.
