Discussions on Formal Sentencing Hearing - Jodi Arias #3

I'm wondering what JA and J17 believe justice to be??? What do they think justice should be for premeditated brutal murder?

That's one of the things this trial has made me think about. I mean, I'm 40 and have two young kids now, so I don't dress up like I used to, but to wear the same thing everyday for the rest of your life? To never wear "street" clothes or real shoes? I had never thought of all of the little...

You explained this very well. I agree that the BBM definitely has something to do with her decision not to cooperate. And you're right, she really shouldn't have been there. This single person has caused a lot of people extreme heartbreak and changed the course of a convicted murder's life forever.

The irony that this trial was conducted in such secrecy, yet less than 24 hours after the verdict, all of the jurors' names are on the internet

I did read it in its entirety and posted about it last night, and now it's gone. Maybe I included too many quotes from it? Anyway, I also gathered that while they were chatting, she was supposed to be writing an email to clear things up. She kept making excuses as to why she wasn't getting it...

Are you looking for the transcript or video? If video, I don't think it's been released yet.

Well said. I agree with everything you expressed. And "hi" from an hour south in Santa Cruz! :seeya:

I know I'm in a state of shock, but there just has to be some sort of recourse for this. If Juror 17 truly was not DP qualified and if the things we're reading about her are true, are there consequences? Is there any way to "fix" this because this is WRONG.

Just read that Juan prosecuted one of Juror 17's husbands in 2000.

Why do I remembering hearing that juror 17 herself wanted off of the jury? Am I wrong?

I hadn't seen this! Where did you find this? I subscribe to her site and didn't catch this.

I wish I was in Amsterdam with you, suckin' down strawberry frappaccinos (which I don't even like) sitting at some pretty canal, crying together!

Anyone read the transcripts of the May 26th texts between JA and Travis on Beth's page?

I'm thinking about how much tragedy happened outside of the courtroom during all of this...the death of Det. Flores' son, the death of one of the DT (I forget his role), the death of the juror's mother...there was so much pain for many people involved.

I KNEW IT! She chickened out. When it came down to it, she couldn't vote for the DP. No discussion about it. Wouldn't answer when asked, "Well, WHAT would it take for the DP?". No answer.

Even though I have believed, and shared here, that I thought this holdout was due to one person not being able to go through with the DP, I am still so disappointed and heartbroken, even MORE so now listening to the jury. They didn't believe ANY of it. I just WISH there was some way to fix this.

VERDICT WATCH - Sentencing of Jodi Arias - Retrial Day 45

I think this should all be over, but if this is the case, if we realize this woman was a "supporter", can there be a mistrial? I didn't follow the Dippolito trial, but read here yesterday that she won an appeal based on a "juror issue". I bet prosecution only gets to appeal, not the state...
