I agree. When the jury members were being picked, I commented about how they were answering questions as if they were interviewing for their dream job, and praying they were picked.
Most people do whatever they can to get out of jury duty. Add into the equation that they could have been putting...
I agree, however, it's not up to her parents to decide. It's up to the DA to prosecute the case as a DP case, and the jury will decide on the sentence.
Her parents can present a "Victims Impact Statement", and that can be considered while determining the sentence, but it's not the deciding factor.
I don't think this should be a DP case.
I thought perhaps before she was found, it may have been good to use as a plea bargaining tool to get JS to tell LE where her body was, in exchange for LWOP.
Not only would it be harder for a jury to convict in a DP case, there have only been three...
They found a dress and a bonnet with the body.
Now we know why the Cadaver dogs hit at the location of where her bra and underwear were found.
My thoughts were unless he removed them after she was dead, they wouldn't have hit. She was buried there too before he moved her body.
It's nice to see a community come and work together like everyone did in Lancaster County. I remember last summer, the turnout was huge and the search went on and on for weeks on end in the hot summer sun. They never gave up. Although most will never see this...Kudos to all involved.
Sad, yes, but keep in mind that now that they have her body, (if it is her) It will be hard to show reasonable doubt that she may still be alive when it goes to trial.
I think it's fair to say that if JS is guilty of this, having her body will provide much more direct evidence to strengthen the...
I can't say for sure, but my thoughts are he put his hands behind his back because he understands the magnitude of his actions, and I think he believes he should have been convicted, and perhaps it was a sign to the world he agrees with the verdict.
I also think he may have just wanted to get it...
I agree. When I was younger, it was unheard of for a cop to go searching through your car for a traffic infraction.
Now, it seems like everyone in Los Angeles is handcuffed and made to sit on the curb while police rummage through their vehicle from the videos I've watched.
Cops seem to always...
I think under the circumstances, they got it right.
If you're asking if he got a fair trial? No way IMO. Then again, I never expected him to.
Do I think Chauvin killed Floyd? Yes. Beyond a reasonable doubt? No.
I'm still not convinced that health issues/drugs didn't kill Floyd, however...
I think Lane should go to trial. I think the video's show he tried to save Floyd's life more than once. He checked for a pulse, wanted to turn him over on his side and assisted in the ambulance. His knee wasn't on Floyd's neck.
I understand if someone dies while in the commission of a felony...
Most remember where they were when the Space Shuttle blew up.
Most remember where they were when the OJ verdict was read.
Most will remember where they were when the Chauvin verdict was read
Just to clarify, Tara was responding to my post, and no, I don't believe for a minute that the judge meant for the jury not to talk to anyone. Then again, I'm not a juror, and there may be one that did think that way.
I wasn't "thinking" that the Judge said "Don't talk to anyone"... That's...
They went through a lot of work during that trial to make sure the sequestered jury didn't get any outside influence. The jury was able to read newspapers in their hotel rooms, but the newspapers had anything that may have influenced them cut out. The bus that took them to the courtroom had the...
No. the Judge may take a poll with each juror so they can't leave until they are dismissed by him.
If Chauvin agreed to have the jury decide whether or not they would decide on the aggravating factors, they would not be dismissed until they did so, but the Judge will do that.
I'd agree with that if the jury was instructed on day one and told to remember the rules throughout the trial, but that wasn't what happened. He never mentioned anything until at least a week into the trial.
I think it would be fair to say that there may be at least one juror that's never been...
