They did the same thing in the Denise Amber Lee case. Same wording, and everything, saying that they had found a body but had not identified it (like we have multiple bodies laying around in North Port), etc. And they found the grave late in the afternoon the day before she was recovered...

I hadn't thought of that, but you're right. Cinnamon Brown was put in the same type of situation, convinced that someone was going to hurt her father, and killed her stepmother to "protect" him. When all David Brown wanted was insurance money and his wife's younger sister.

Ok, did I miss something here? Brooke wasn't even found until Wednesday (and it was late in the day when it was announced), how could they have done an autopsy on Tuesday?

That's what I'm hoping. That's the only real hope we have that Michael Jacques will receive anything resembling proper punishment. I am so depressed. I never really thought Brooke had run away, but deep down, I was still hoping. I've been too depressed to even come on here and post.

I remember that one. It's the same thing with making these guys eligible for bail. If they were busted for something like that in Florida, there is no way they'd be able to make bail.

I'm pretty sure that's the real one (the one she was using when she went missing).

I really hope that she did just run away, and now that Jacques and Gagnon are in jail, she'll feel safe enough to come back. I really, really do hope that. But I just have a hard time imagining anyone that age staying gone for this long on her own. My daughter is the same age, and pretty...

You're right. Girls all post a ton of pictures, etc, on Myspace, along with other stuff that might be perceived as sexual. I don't think they think of it that way, necessarily....it's just, that's what their friends do, so that's what they do, too.

I've been thinking that for a couple of days now. I think I even blogged it. If my daughter was missing, I'd sure expect to know more than what they're saying on the news.

I've been watching this story since it began, and I guess I didn't think it could get any worse. It just did. I think I'm going to be sick. These are girls the same age as my daughters. And they may allow this guy to make bail? Ugh.
