The main reason for letting them out too soon is prison overcrowding. They must make room for the newer inmates just convicted. It's all about money, like everything else. Prisons are a big money maker for States.

Over the last few days, I have read the entire 4 threads of this case. I have no clue what the answer is. I feel sad for the family and it is a fascinating case.
I was a Florida corrections officer and retired in 2014. They just fingerprinted new hires and DID NOT do any polygraph's or DNA testing.
It might have changed since 2014 but before that, just fingerprinting.
