Ha ! Lloyd Rayney flanked by Johnny Montani and an other 'bouncer' when exiting the court. Corryn's family surrounded by police. What a contrast! See PerthNow-Verdict =trial pictures

21 days for prosecutors to lodge an appeal! Not sure on what grounds an appeal would be valid? However, Justice Martin believes Corryn was assaulted (rendered unconscious) at the family home. So he obviously accepted (some) of the physical evidence tying the crime to the family home. But no...

Well this case is still in the news here while we await the judge's verdict on 1st November. http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/special-features/lloyd-rayney-murder-trial-prosecutors-begin-final-summary/story-fneuw3oz-1226500952911 Thanks NADS I read the story about Montani too...after the 3rd...

No samples are definitive according to expert witnesses- Not paint, soil, DNA samples, scuff marks on boots. But let's not forget brick particles in bra and moss samples in seed pods...they weren't from Kings Park. But now pollen samples have been introduced as final evidence by Defence to...

Yeah you're correct about Judge's reason for not admitting tapes...maybe he would have overlooked procedure if more exact, less inferential info? Obviously defence will continue to pursue an alternate crime scene. Hope prosecutor addresses defence's claim that 2mg/lt of caffeine in Corryn's...

Can incorrect procedures mean that some evidence may be inadmissible e.g. recorded phone conversations with LR obtained deceptively by police sergeant Mark McKenzie were rejected this week from evidence ! Valuable evidence - as LR was the one doing the questioning and seemed to be one step ahead...

Very disturbing that Dr Cadden received an edited video of his examination - I hope the complete video is still available. Very curious ? au.news.yahoo.com/.../officer-blames-poor-skill-for-edited-video/

Hope you're right Palmy...Dr Cadden even had me thinking! But he was examining Corryn's scalp for injuries not combing through her very thick, curly hair. Also insinuation that he was surprised a police officer arrived before him at the autopsy ....???

I agree Zoro - no consistency, standard procedures, professional integrity or well documented evidence. Whole case just makes me sick :puke:

Migoreng you are probably correct with your prediction of the outcome of this trial but let's not forget that Corryn Rayney will not be going on with her life  Also Palmy - Respectfully- Do you think it's appropriate to discuss Caitlyn Rayney's motivation for going to Oxford on here...

Condolences MD - have missed you on this site : ) I don't think Mr Eades was named as a 'person of interest' but 'a person well-known to police'. He has a record and DNA is in the system. That's all I read into it.

I'm pretty sure defence is going for a 2nd murder site. They have set the scene for Corryn being murdered in her car, several break-ins to her car at Bentley (as if you wouldn't tell your sister that????) and they definitely have a witness who could be called to testify that she may have been...

Has it struck anyone else that it is dodgy that LR's legal buddies have come forward with police statements to assist the prosecution? Could it be a strategy to embed oneself as prosecution witnesses purely to muddy the waters in aid of the defence? I think a lot of these witness statements need...

Same Palmy ...I couldn't find any religious or other significance to a head down burial...other than ancient times but crossed arms are common. The hanky was found 10cm below Corryn's head ...our sandy soil in Perth could account for that as well as no significant difference between top and sub...

Hi Palmy I personally think that the head position was to cover up evidence and speed up decomposition. What struck me was that her arms were crossed ...some care there ...made me think whoever buried Corryn either knew her or had some regard for her or deceased in general??? Didn't look...

Hmmm! Sorry me again . Maybe recording your own 'home phone' conversations isn't illegal in WA ? I thought it was illegal and immoral in this case but I'm not sure now? Wasn't LR charged along with Pearson? The West Australian link has 2 enhanced phone conversations today. Have a listen...

Hmmm! Interesting day...and I'm hoping to hear/read other websleuthers' thoughts on the phone tapping. Someone suggested to me that it was not an illegal activity for LR as he tapped his own home phone? I doubt this. But apparently Clare O'Brien was of the same opinion...surely she wouldn't...

Prosecution's evidence has many flaws...none of it 100% like DNA so what's the point? How could someone be convicted on evidence that is 'remarkably like' , 'consistent with' or 'similar to'. Not looking forward to more witnesses...even forensic police can't agree on when/how seed pods were...
