Ah, I see. No, but I do know that there is a verified insider (Renu) on this thread who could verify it. She hasn't been active on this thread for a while now. No doubt finding more fruitful ways to invest her time and energy. I'm about there myself.

I will go back through the thread again to find it. I know that Susan Sr. did talk about the gas receipt in this thread, and was clear that the purpose of the stop was to gas up the car, and that the gas receipt and the sighting of the neighbor who saw them leave the farm were used to establish...

SInce tomorrow is MLK day, I will call MTC pn Tuesday and ask them if they had service to Maple Grove in 1989, or reasonably close enough for a couple of 12 year olds to walk to a stop from Maple Grove. Alternatively, if Amy's friend were in crisis, and determined to walk, it's not out of the...

Yes, that is another example of poor reporting. While Amy's parents say he stopped to get gas, and then used the bathroom (at one point saying that they gave the gas receipt to the MGPD in order to help them in establishing the timeline of the trip from Isanti to Maple Grove) Still, for some...

You already did that when you posted the Wikipedia article stating that the maple grove service was formed to "opt out" of the MTC. That means that previously, bus service was provided by the MTC.

Again, I have more trust in the police to assume they did not follow up. Especially if the police were the ones that informed the family of the tip. Why would the police not follow up on a tip? Just because they didn't publicize the results of an ongoing investigation, I would not assume they...

They say they never said anything of the sort. Again, I would tend to believe they know what they said and are a more reliable source for what they thought and said than what is reported by a reporter telling you what someone else said they thought and said.

It just isn't logical, given that the police have had ample opportunity to look at the people and places closest to the victim's everyday life, given that the police have made the statement that the family is fully cooperative, given that the family has handed over all evidence that they believe...

I raised two children, and have had their friends show up at my house for "cooling off periods". I always made sure that they called their parents and told them where they were, and insisted that I talk with the parents to make sure that they were OK with their kids staying at our house after...

Again, Amy's parents contest Garland's interpretation of their concerns. They have said they don't even know why he would say they said such things. So I guess I am inclined to believe that someone knows what they said themselves. It's not necessarily "punative" to call the police if you...

Human, this is an example of what I am talking about. You link to an article that clearly states that the Maple Grove Transit System was created when Maple Grove "opted out" of the MetroTransit system. This does not mean that no busses went to Maple Grove before 1990. All it means is that before...

Given that the family disputes the Garland report, it's not surprising that they also dispute his summary of the conversation. It's also interesting to have the article say that Officer Garland was called to the house. The mother has repeatedly said that it was dispatch that told Amy's father to...

Just googled travel from Osseo Middle School to Minneapolis. It is a 12 mile walk, or 20 minutes by bus. Not impossible for a 13 year old. Especially if the friend who was in crisis had information from some outreach source on how to get there. Even without the internet tools we have now, it was...

What "numerous runaway reports"? The family has said that this was unusual behavior for her. Is there some other source you are using? I think I remember seeing one mention in an article about how Amy was away from home without her parent's permission, and packed clothes and whatnot, but it...

Ah yes, found it. Comment #452. Amy's mom talks about Amy going to The Bridge with a friend who needed help, and then calling her parents to come get her afterwards. Mom states that she was proud of Amy for being a helpful and caring friend.

I do recall mention that she was aware of the Bridge, and that she had been to the Bridge, but never that she had been in the shelter as a resident or needed the services.

Do you know that Amy ran away from home? If you have evidence that she was a runaway, you should share that with the police.

You would need to ask the person who collated the statistics. Remember, though, that just because a child is classified as a "runaway, all that means is that they are absent without permission. After all, the three women rescued from that Castro guy were classified as runaways, and only...

A story about armed robberies of local small businesses, including a convenience store, which was robbed three days after Amy disappeared. With serial armed robberies in the immediate area, is it possible that Amy somehow saw something suspicious and they had to stop their activities and deal...

An article on a gun incident at Osseo Junior High. Unfortunately, I don't remember if this was the 5th of May before, or the 5th of May after Amy disappeared. But I think it does show that the time around when Amy disappeared, there were, in fact, serious issues at her school and in the area at...
