They didn't bring back the other "suspects" this time. Maybe they just read the testimony in court. I assume that's what they did with the ex-wife's testimony re back child support also.
I think the minimum for murder in Indiana is 45 years. That would put him at 80 when he got out. I almost like the idea of that happening. 80 years old. No relatives left alive. No place to go. No money. Put out on the street after 45 years inside. It's winter in Indiana.....
But his testimony is not to be believed. He knew Melinda was gone. So he brought his wife. But why the guns? I'm thinking about reality here, not his made up story. Why, in the real world, where he knew there was no stalker, would he bring guns?
The wife I understand. Somebody had to take care of the baby. The guns - not so much. If the cops were on their way who did he think he needed protection from?
Yep. Last time the lawyer wanted the photo. Regardless of who wanted it, I don't get the point. What purpose could a photo like that possibly serve? Except as a trophy?
So - she slept with a gun on her nightstand because she was afraid of the stalker - but he didn't lock the doors at night because he never thought the stalker would shoot Melinda.
If this jury does not convict I swear I am going to lose all faith in humanity.
So he didn't have blood on his clothes. Okay, so he wouldn't have because the splatter would have gone in the other direction. Or .... he CHANGED HIS CLOTHES before handcuffing himself with zip ties. Did the cops go through every piece of clothing in the house? No .....
Oh I'm sure he told her a whopper, and I have no doubt he felt really, really, smart when 20-year-old Melinda bought it. But at that point she didn't really have much choice than to believe him and hope for the best. She was pregnant and out of work - and she had a lot of pride. She didn't want...
I have always thought that when he asked her to marry him, and then had that cheap, quickie wedding without any of their friends or family, he had already decided what he was going to do. The wedding was in November, 2013. In January 2014 he lost his job and bought the life insurance. He killed...
I just hope she is with someone who will love and care for her, and give her a stable family life. It doesn't sound to me like SL's brother is the man for the job. Considering Steven was looking at adoption sites, I doubt if the brother raising the baby was part of the plan.
I hope that...
Both of his children are victims of this. His daughter will be essentially an orphan, dependent on relatives or god forbid the foster care system. His son will be the kid in school whose dad is in prison for murder.
I hope he rots for the sake of their future suffering as much as I do for...
I am not sure what the attitudes of Steven's in-laws have to do with his guilt or innocence. Did he or did he not shoot their daughter in the head while she slept? Everything else is moot. Or should be.
