It's clear to me that the Sheriff is NOT referencing the photo & audio as the "twist" in this case as some here have theorized.
He's talking about something else.
Here's what I think:
Law enforcement has pulled all the traffic cams and can find no vehicle of interest that pulled off in the area. They also interviewed everyone near the area and no one can recall a suspicious vehicle around the time of the crime. This leads LE to look closer to home...

If law enforcement believes that this killer could strike again........and IMO they DO believe that.........then they aren't waiting on any lab to process evidence.

After looking at the full tweet I think this is one St .Police spokesman(Peru) congratulating another St. Police spokesman (Indianapolis) on a good interview.
"Today's the day" is something they all say to each other every day this case is not solved IMO.
