I can't imagine that LE is having what seems to be an otherwise unplanned presser if there weren't some news of an affirmative nature--something is found, something is known, someone is found. However, I remain mystified by the location of the presser at the bus barn rather than LE...

Do we know if JM's roommates have been interviewed? They might have revealing information about his comings and goings on Sept 12/13.

Yes, Longo said JM entered the police station late yesterday afternoon. The detective (not Longo) said JM was there for nearly an hour. But there was no follow up on whether or not the police were able to question him before he asked for a lawyer. SO did the police get him to answer any...

Because he is not a suspect. Suspects have certain constitutional rights. Think Miranda, etc. They hope he will return to the crime scene and lead them to her. Prayers for her parents, family, and friends.

Spot on, Jersey Girl when you state "that they're trying to piece together where Prius Perp & Dan crossed paths..." This appeal to the public for sightings of Dan on Thursday the 17th or Friday the 18th suggests a couple of possibilities: 1. That the perp and Dan, theretofore unknown to each...

Interesting thought Marazul. I would guess that LE has ruled out the "random item a kid might have picked up or been given" before they sent this inquiry out to the public. I am further guessing that they have ruled out the "random Item" possibility because the murderer may have left...

Guessing that the 3 vertical marks on the cross represent the Christian trinity--father, son, and holy ghost. Someone, if not dozens of people, are going to recognize this cross. I would not be surprised to learn that the murderer left it in the backpack or with her remains.

That tells me that LE believes the cross was purposefully left by the murderer. The cat and mouse game has been ON from the beginning. Sick, sadistic, murderer.

I'd love to know just where LE found this cross, and whether or not they believe it was purposefully planted, or accidentally lost. But, of course, LE is seeking the public's help in identifying the former wearer or owner. So, what's the possibility the cross is a red herring planted by...

Or the locals. But the truth is always better. There is likely a child murderer in the community.

The Denver Post and other media have reported that the "body was not intact". One could use a number of euphanisms for that phrase; some are gentler than others. People looking for ratings might make a more salacious choice of verbiage. It is also possible that NG is absolutely right...

I respectfully disagree. I suspect they're looking for body parts. Tragic beyond words.

The LoHud article states that Mrs. Spierer believes only one of Lauren's friends has come forward with info to give LE. Wow. I'm frankly stunned by the sheer volume of alleged friends with broken moral compasses.

Yes, of course, this is true at the present. But it seems that LE would take DNA samples in anticipation of eventually finding a body so they could then utilize those samples, along with interview answers to impeach a possible perp. No? Are there other reasons they would take DNA samples?

I'm noodling the likely reason that certain PsOI were asked for DNA samples and how that plays into what we know about this sad, sad case. It strikes me that one of LE's interview questions must have been whether or not the PsOI had sex with LS that night/morning of her disappearance. I...

I'm wondering if a likely scenario might involve a sexual assault or assaults committed by one or more of those who were: 1. the last to see her 2. may have a criminal and or civil record 3. may have been drinking and or otherwise ingesting mind altering substances 4. may have gone shopping...

Consider viewing the "crime news print-outs" in the context of the entire affidavit. Many things, in isolation, mean nothing. Other times, a panoply of similar bits of information shout out with the noise of crashing cymbals.
