    Kate McCann's Diary

Thanks for posting the diary but I find it a meaningless piece of prose, written in retrospect for public consumption. A very different animal than a diary written at the time, never to be shared with the world. The diary is as cold as Kate McCann.

    Crimewatch Reconstruction 14.10.13 2100GMT

Look, I don't want to split hairs but Occam's Razor is often phrased as "The simplest explanation that fits the facts." You do not need to have every piece of statistical data to apply it. If you did need that, it would rarely be applicable in any situation at all. There are always variables...

    scotland yard investigation

On but Kate said it was Sea Bass and the fact that they had attended dead bodies as part of their jobs. That alone makes me so skeptical about their version of events.

    Crimewatch Reconstruction 14.10.13 2100GMT

That is not a logical thing to say - we can all find exceptions to a rule. The idea is that it is much less likely to be the predatory paedophile than a parental killing. No one can deny that.

    Crimewatch Reconstruction 14.10.13 2100GMT

It was designed exactly for complex situations, where the theory states to strip everything back to simple truths and make the least assumptions possible. It takes a great deal more assumptions to say that a predatory paedophile just happened to be in that area and targeted Madeleine, than...

    Crimewatch Reconstruction 14.10.13 2100GMT

Would be risky I feel. Couldn't it wash back up? They would have had to make a quick decision whatever, so perhaps they did go back to make sure of the job. It's audacious but possible.

    Why did Madeleine 'go missing'?

I just think they were extremely guarded and all their words were very carefully chosen. It was very rehearsed and so it felt cold and emotionless. They are hard to believe indeed.

    Why did Madeleine 'go missing'?

I think it's possible that something happened before 8.30pm and the McCanns were hoping that one of the other parents would make the discovery. As the night wore on, they could have become desperate to have the discovery made. Perhaps they even discussed if the discovery had not been made by...

    Crimewatch Reconstruction 14.10.13 2100GMT

But no one except the McCann's saw Madeleine after 6.30pm - he had plenty of time. If the parents did it, isn't it likely they did it even before dinner and got rid of the evidence in advance? I think these sightings are red herrings.

    scotland yard investigation

I am new to this board but have been looking for a place to discuss this case for a while. What bothers me is why SY have done this reconstruction. It was not complete or accurate to the timeline, so surely that does more harm than good. The evidence that they said was a 'revelation' was not...
