Canada - 10 dead and at least 15 wounded in stabbing attacks in Saskatchewan, 2022

Did anyone see a quote saying where the Rosthern RCMP spotted the Avalanche? Devin Heroux (CBC) posted on Twitter that it was headed Westbound on #1 toward Rosthern (which isn't a thing). If it was actually Westbound it would have been on 312 (which, incidentally, ends at cemetery road in...

Canada - 10 dead and at least 15 wounded in stabbing attacks in Saskatchewan, 2022

Max is 110km/hr on divided highways in Saskatchewan. We do not have any "freeways" or "turnpikes" in the traditional sense between cities as all of our highways have at-grade intersections. 400 series highways are an Ontario thing. They are freeways in the controlled access sense which until...

Canada - 10 dead and at least 15 wounded in stabbing attacks in Saskatchewan, 2022

As someone who drives on both reasonably frequently the difference is traffic density. Someone whipping past on a 400 series surrounded by traffic is way less interesting than someone blasting past you on SK 11 when there's not much else to pay attention to. Edit: That plus in recent years Sask...

IIRC there aren't any slower sections between the outskirts of PA and Saskatoon.

This is correct. Speed limit is 110km where the pursuit took place. Rosthern is just a few minutes away from me. You're still gonna raise some eyebrows going 40 over even if it's not completely uncommon.

Have to wonder if he was trying to cause collateral damage doing that. Thankfully we'll never know.

Moo: Lots of people in towns around this area leave their keys in the car. Not much property theft aside from when people from out of town bring a truck in and take advantage. (Which has been happening more frequently the last few years but some people don't learn quickly.)

I noticed the highway hotline just indicated the closing of 3 ferries in the area. I'm hoping LE is able to establish a perimeter. (Not that I really want to be on the inside of it if something goes down.)

CANADA Canada - Kam McLeod, 19, & Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, last seen Sask, mid July 2019 *Armed & Dangerous*

My layman "I play phone games" experience tells me the Coke can and sign are Thai.

Interesting. I've always thought of gas bars as the things in supermarket parking lots with little or no staff and gas stations as gas stations.

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.2.16 - Day 58 - Closing Arguments Day 3

I do agree with the crown in this particular instance, but it's literally their job to be of the opinion that whomever is charged with a crime actually committed it. If you ever somehow end up not screened out of jury duty please don't just defer to the crown's predetermined opinion.

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.2.16 - Day 58 - Closing Arguments Day 3

That testimony bothered me, because the Bobcat employee testified to having to clean a lot of "bird crap" off the phone. I'd assumed it wasn't actually bird crap.

I'd take that to mean they have an established meeting place near where Smich was living, but less likely to be under surveillance. Possibly literally "around the block".

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.2.16 - Day 58 - Closing Arguments Day 3

MS could have used a Johnnie Cochran in this case. "If MS battery died you must acquit!"

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.2.16 - Day 58 - Closing Arguments Day 3

Are they not also entitled to closing arguments, normally, followed by an optional rebuttal from the crown? Edit: Oh, I see they did that first. Time flies when you're following an extremely long trial.

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.2.16 - Day 58 - Closing Arguments Day 3

This is a very convincing closing. 2x 1st degree after five minutes of deliberation. I'm having a hard time imagining any credible doubt, by now. Though I'm sure the defenses will pull out some wild stories. MOO.

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #15

Keep in mind the crown doesn't have to prove possible they have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #15

I know opinions are like *advertiser censored**holes but here's how I feel about the case as of today: DM's version of events refuses to actually put any culpability for TB's death on either MS or DM. 'The gun went off when TB grabbed it.' O_o. That sociopath needs to rot in jail. MS is definitely not...

    Bosma Murder Trial 05.20.16 - Day 53

So, Sachak keeps calling it "the thing" but the testimony more accurately reflects that he asked for "the stuff"?

That really isn't hard to detect though.
