Nope - no Uber or Lyft in that area. It's close to the airport, which would be easier to get a cab from.
There are two buses that run infrequently to either Nanaimo or the Cowichan area (Nanaimo Airport Transport | Airport Shuttles and Other Transportation) from the airport. You'd have to walk...
Brittany's Facebook Profile: Log into Facebook (hasn't been updated publicly since 2017)
Looks like she has a young son as well. I haven't seen anything mentioned about it, but wondering if she has a vehicle?
Another photo of Brittany from her profile (this one is from 2015; the one from the...

The Jeep location is confusing to me, too. Especially since that area is so random. Pulling off onto Spruston itself is not really a common turn-off for tourists or locals unless you're familiar with it and McGillivray Way is a gravel road. That area, aside...

I hope there are answers soon. Nothing feels right about this. However as is normal, RCMP will not release all known facts and evidence to the public and family/friends are being cautious of this as well but also vigilant in responding to questions to address/clear up any rumours...
Wow! I too hope that's accurate in that she's been found - but hoping she's okay. Nipomo to the Mexico border is about 5 hours not factoring in the traffic through LA County. Even circling around to avoid LA, it's 5+ hours.
I'm glad that she's been found. Fifteen was not an easy age for me and...
My partner had COVID last month. We made it through the pandemic up until then... but it started going around at his work. He works mostly outdoors, but then there's riding around in the trucks. First him, missed me (as soon as he felt sick, he went to the spare room) and then his closest...
This disappearance bears an uncomfortable resemblance to the Ben Kilmer disappearance - a man of the same age on Vancouver Island a few years ago. I sincerely hope the outcome is not the same, and Nathaniel is found safe. He's deemed as high-risk at this time. At this time I don't believe they...

Cowichan SAR is assisting Ladysmith SAR in the search for Amber Manthorne after her vehicle was located south of Nanaimo. Trackers attended last night and ground searching is continuing today looking for any sign that can help locate Amber.

She may have been down, maybe a bit stressed, but she had a lot going for her at 18. Her own place that young is an incredible achievement. Just from those articles, it seems out of character for her to leave town abruptly rather than discuss a spur-of-the-moment trip if that's what she chose to...
Haven't seen any updates on this; searched to see if any articles had been updated but radio silence. I hope she's safe and getting the help she needs.
When I first heard the vehicle was found in Cassidy, I hoped it was around Cassidy Country Kitchen - just off the highway, literally on the highway. Her vehicle was found on a gravel road and parked in the bushes which finds me feeling unsettled.
You have to drive up Spruston Road a little bit...

Rough location of where the vehicle was recovered:
Friends/family have asked that people do not explore the area, as if RCMP/K9 units need to examine the area again, it can throw the K9 unit off to have so many different scents.
Printing some of these off for the mainland. With the ferries and frequent travellers to/from the island, you never know who might know something. Feeling for Ian and his family. No trace, no crumbs to follow :( hoping that information becomes available.
Cameron Lake, where her phone last pinged, is on the Alberni Highway which would be taken to get to/from Nanaimo.
Service can be spotty (or non-existent) coming into Whiskey Creek/Coombs, depending on your provider. It picks back up again once you're on the 19.
Port Alberni woman’s car found in Nanaimo, but woman is still missing
