Hi again from cold London, UK. Both this and the Barrazza case have interested me for years. I've been 50-50 so far as to whether this was targeted or not. I now agree with Pat Brown that it wasn't and that Missy was killed by a burgler dressed as a cop. Look if he/she, and I think like Pat that...
..And he was thrown in to a deep rock crevice, as the father said, except he didn't fall in. Have they all been search by police teams. Must be loads there.
It must be awful for them if they had nothing to do with it because unless there's resolution and someone else charged, there will always be people to accuse them or snigger behind their backs. Locals to point their finger in the shops etc. Think I'd move house at least.
If it sounded quite serious and the person had maybe had previous mental health authorities or police contact and it sounded like it may need a section to be enforced. A social worker or Dr. can't force you in hospital and actually carry you but a police officer can. Have had experience of this...
I am guessing that her lungs were full of water, no wounds either, meaning she drowned and that's why no murder investigation was opened and the body was released so quickly. Accident or suicide verdict. May even be misadventure or even open. It may never be known how she came to be in the water.
They must have been sure right from Day 1 that there was no foul play and never really deviated from that. Wonder if she left a note or sent a text or just said something to someone. Usually a woman disappears whilst on a walk you think of abduction.
Just thought. Another reason not to release the body if any 3rd party involvement was suspected at all would be because any accused person can request another independant post-mortem.
Not if it's cremation. A coroner can specify no cremation. He did with our 22 year-old daughter. Not unless all samples and tests are fully completed, so we waited.
He's very experienced. Dr. James Adelay has been been Chief Coroner for Lancashire for 18 years and was a lawyer before that and previously an ENT consultant.
A PM happens here in the UK usually if it's an accident, suspected foul play, sudden or unexplained death and/or the deceased wasn't being seen by a Dr. for an illness recently. Family has no say. It's a legal requirement and something which the Coroner orders.
