Finally some real justice hope it is some small comfort Reeva's family.
Will time spent on house arrest count as time served towards what will be his new increased prison sentence ?
If he appeals will he be taken back to prison or left on house arrest ?
Hope this is true ,but I doubt it because he would state that he is being discriminated against because of his disability . I wonder how other similarly disabled prisoners have been treated in the past ?
Sorry not an African name , just a nickname related to my shopping habits
( long story won't bother you with the details )
:-)
Funnily enough though I have genuinely had lots of " take two " moments whilst following this trial ,so much so I feel I have been living in a parallel universe at...
In reply to VAL1 's post .
Every time I see that picture of the pillows propped up against the headboard it makes my blood boil thinking that a judge could accept his version of events of them both being asleep from around 10.30 . Who sleeps with the pillows like that . I am still astonished by...
Don't know if this has ever been posted

It is another terrible case of a wealthy man killing his girlfriend that I didn't know about .
Her mother is using the press interest in the Reeva's death to highlight her...
Another possibility for an argument in the early hours of Valentine day could have been the fact that OP had not got Reeva a Valentine card or present ?
Someone just posted a comment on a Facebook page that there is a link to the jail time and having his bail money refunded . I don't know if this is the case .Does anyone know anything about this ?
I would hate to think that the inadequate sentence has also made him financially better off and...
I totally agree . I said the same the other day . I couldn't think of what could have made it a more serious CH unless the door had been open ,but in that instance it would definitely have been murder and not CH.
I would love it if someone with Legal knowledge could explain what could possibly...
He will be a model prisoner IMO to ensure he is let out at the earliest opportunity .
After his court appearances he should have no problem getting round a parole board.
Just adding here I feel this is really not long enough .
Good morning everyone from a very blustery Channel Islands.
Hoping for some sort of justice but sadly not expecting it .
A big big thanks to all for your running commentary .
Without it I don't think I could have followed this trial as watching it live always elevated my blood pressure .
Thanks for your reply . I always feel so sad when I see Reevas parents and family and wish as much peace as is possible following such a tragedy. There composure during all this has been amazing .
It is not surprising that Reeva seemed to be such a lovely person .
It is sad the full truth has eluded them ,lets hope some sort of justice is dished out.
Do you think that in the very beginning they thought it could have been an accident ?
Hope your hunch about Masipa is right and that she hands out a stiff sentence
Totally see your viewpoint about op and the families original expectations and no doubt the defence team would have thought this was the best outcome that OP could have hoped for .
However I still have a feeling OP...
Yes I agree he and all his family were shocked about the CH judgement. They are used to winning and using their wealth to their advantage .
If it had been a jury trial and I was on the jury I would have definitely found him guilty of murder because I also believe he knew it was Reeva and that...
Thank you for clarifying :-)
I understand what you are saying now and yes it is absurd but I guess his defence team didn't have much to work with bearing in mind his extreme recklessness and the tragic result which really warrants tougher justice than house arrest IMO.
I dread to think of how...
That is a really good question.
I had not given thought as to how much time he will actually serve probably because I have been horrified thinking he may not serve any time at all .
If it is same as in the UK the judge can specify a minimum term otherwise he would probably only serve half. I am...
Not sure exactly what you find absurd if you have read all previous posts.
I have certainly never been of the opinion that because he has spent a fortune on legal fees he should not go to prison and have never indicated this in any posts .
His legal team however have tried to garner the sympathy...
