Agreed, it probably was then. I still think that the police have a reason to feel that the call was legitimate, so my theory is that something is held back from the call.
Has it ever been fully confirmed when the call came in? Was it before the kidnapping was reported in the media or after? Again, reported in the media. We know that it was after it had been reported to the police. Big difference.
If this is an exact description of how the call went down it sounds very random. The other, more common description leans more info wishful thinking. There's a big difference between them.
