I agree with that, for sure. That does seem inconsistent. From what I remember the info about bottle being a possible murder weapon was also held back for those first 2 yrs. The only difference may be that in instances where someone is found deceased like this... the presence of alcohol...

I guess I'm just presuming that if they've identified the voices on the voicemail (which is what it says in that article I posted) they would have discussed with those people any important conversations that happened during that time period in the club. I mean of course anyone could lie or just...

Six years, no arrests. UNC student Faith Hedgepeth’s family still has few answers Not sure if already posted, but here's one more article... Had never before heard that they had identified whose voices were on that butt dial. I don't necessarily agree with the article's interpretation of the...

If my memory serves me correctly, the public was not informed of the note until like two years later, right? It's absence on there was likely intentional at the time the autopsy was written.

I agree. Definitely knew people who left their doors unlocked both on an off campus at UNC. Best case scenario: somebody plays a prank on you, worst case scenario something is stolen and even worse murder. Hindsight is 20/20 and of course to us it seems foolish, but people do do it (hopefully...

I agree that, as things stand now, based on what information the public's been given, the handling of this investigation seems questionable and poorly handled.

To add some perspective, OCME's across the country are facing tremendous issues right now with the increases in opioid deaths and quiet honestly not enough staff (both pathologists and techs) to handle the load. It absolutely will be and is a state of emergency if the government doesn't do...

This article is more related to how poorly they treated students who wanted to report sexual assault cases committed on campus. It was a big deal in the news in the 1-2 years after Faith's murder and UNC was one of the main schools being implicated in the news for Title IX violations. You never...

It's from 2012. They just didn't write it on the diagram. Here's the link where that PDF comes from. Apartment Crime Statistics | Town of Chapel Hill, NC Presumably Faith is the 1 person listed under crime against persons. Also it's kind of annoying that an apartment complex with so much...

Somebody posted that info with statistics recently but idk how far back it was though. Hawthorne at the View was on the higher end from what I remember. Found the link: http://www.townofchapelhill.org/home/showdocument?id=17324

I have been involved in some hospital autopsies and there is a scale used to evaluate rigor and lividity (albeit not very scientific). Not sure if/how they use it on the forensic side as well, but I'm certain they do take note of these findings. Rigor can be affected by things like room and body...

Presence of rigor and lividity can still be noted at the scene, especially in the event that photos are taken (in this instance they most certainly were taken) and/or someone from the Medical Examiner is present at the scene. A representative from the MEs office would have been sent to the scene...

I've always believed it's #1. Lots of evidence and don't know who. The scary thing about this case is just how much circumstantial evidence there is to implicate so many other people that don't match the DNA.

The backlog of rape kits is extremely concerning. It’s not only an issue in NC either so one can just imagine what’s been missed. Wouldn’t be shocked that this person isn’t a first time offender.

I really did not like this episode. It was so sensationalized. I'm glad people are still talking about the case, though.

Also wondering if any voicemails were left on BE's VM. 3:52:19 to 3:52:58 seems like enough time that either the phone kept ringing and ringing or a voicemail was left.

I’m still not done watching yet but Whew this episode was VERY MESSY (meaning a lot of people are starting to tell what they know and their opinions on things). Really hoping this helps them to close the case.
