I guess the father did at least do something's with JM unlike an awful lot of divorced fathers who were completely absent in their children's lives! Whether his negative influence totally counteracted the positive and left Jesse with mixed signals we won't know until the trial! Mixed signals...
Hope you realize that that is not my opinion of Hannah by any means! It has been alluded to in other posts! I think this world in general seems to blame victims! In cases of domestic violence the abuser is often let go by a judge only to murder his partner! OT I realize!
Other threads mentioned...
I will get flamed for this but here goes. Hannah was wearing a 'shiny crop top' in a preppy town! Much speculation about her possibly knowing JM and meeting him to buy drugs! Poor JM came from a broken home with possibly one less than stellar parent! Welcome to the real world! Coddle the perp...
If JM parents split when he was in high school, then he was around long enough to have had a large influence! If he (the father) has had an arrest for indecent exposure then it MIGHT have a genetic component although JM went much farther than this! Add this to being a poor example to LJ in other...
Yes. I read something about the father also, but he was raised by his mother and grandparents so hopefully they would have had a bigger influence on him!
We live in an ago of disfunction, broken families, alcoholism, drug use and even prevalent use of SSRI'S ( which are thought to cause violence in many)! I wonder what percentage of children coming out of families with these problems grow up to be SK's and rapists!
I guess this is where the...
So then JM was of the orchid variety, and although loved, he was not loved and supported in a way that he needed! How would you determine the type of direction an 'orchid' would need even if you find them at a very young age I wonder! Certainly children raised reasonably equally in a loving...

Thank you for your reply! I suppose that none of us will know for sure the forces to bear in forming JM, and contributing (if found guilty) to his actions! The old 'nurture verses nature' debate! I believe to a large degree it is the later, but this could be debated for ever. And has been! I...
When all of this happened hardly matters does it? From the reports of people who know him he came from a family who cared about him! Certainly 'good enough' parenting that it would not have have created, or given any excuse for being a rapist or murderer!! Does 'pure evil' exist on this planet...
With all due respect to you also, I am certain that when the 'underpinnings' of this crime are stripped away the parents of these victims, and most others in fact, will agree with me on the pure 'pure evil' at work here. More than JMO here I am sure!
These is no excuse other than pure evil for JL's actions (if proven guilty)! It sounds like his mother and family were supportive of him. His mother moved to a good area away from gangs. Family members even accompanied him to the police station where he acquired his lawyer! Many start life...
OK maybe not a toaster, but a needle! If he is responsible for these atrocities, and it looks more and more to be the case, I hope he doesn't escape through a loop hole of any kind like 'if it doesn't fit you must acquit'! :tantrum:
If she is called on to identify JM, and she is able to do so, with his connection to the MH case and the link also to HG- he's toast!
Sorry, meant to answer FindHG's post upstream,
Bumbling newbie here!
Now that we know who he might be (and probably is) it is easy to see evil. That wide eyed innocent stare looked mild mannered and innocuous to me at first! JMO
