IL - Lt. Charles 'Joe' Gliniewicz, 52, found dead, Fox Lake, 1 Sep 2015 *wife arrested* #7

That would explain the continuing federal investigation, money laundering and the immediate involvement of the FBI, ATF and DHS. I believe that federal investigationmay have been going on prior to his suicide.

The feds are still investigating him for money laundering. I think you are right, we will hear a lot more in the coming weeks.

Linked an article indicating Lake County taking over investigating Mel and DJ. They mentioned the ongoing federal investigation into Gliniwicz. Let's not forget they mentioned money laundering...

I believe it had something to do with a bank collecting on a bad debt.

They said five figures. About a month ago this had been talked about elsewhere and the amount of $50,000. Came up. Now, seems to me with the right lawyer he could have avoided jail time and paid restitution. His life wasn't totally over.....unless it is much bigger than embezzelment. They...

No, not at all. Just speculating if they could be connected.

Under court events on 10/15, the extradition date was set and something about consolidation with another case. I'm guessing with the homicide in Wisconsin. https://circuitclerk.lakecountyil.gov/publicAccess/html/common/courtCaseDetails.xhtml?caseDetailsId=6

You can check lake counties court clerk records. He was charged with 5 traffic violations, one auto theft and one fugitive from justice. https://circuitclerk.lakecountyil.gov/publicAccess/html/common/index.xhtml

Yeah, that's the one. Really violent and, not surprisingly, a lot of complaints about local police not handling things correctly. Luna used to work for them and had gone in and even ate some chicken before committing the crime. The garbage cans had been cleaned out already when a cop noticed a...

Good to know....I had been checking paperwork filed for him in lake county and didn't see anything regarding a warrant but I wasn't sure. Thanks!

That's all I'm asking. Would the need a warrant to take a DNA sample? We were at a restaurant a number of years ago when LE came into the place and took one of the busboys. They threw a piece of paper at him and someone said it was a court order for a DNA sample re: Browns chicken murders.

Does anyone know how long extradition takes? Obregon is being held until Nov. 3 in lake county.

I don't know that they were the same story. I heard about Fratellos (thanks for the name, couldn't remember) the night of sept 1 and I think the Volo incident happened the next night, didn't it? I know many are saying they hope Obregon doesn't become the scapegoat but honestly, this is what...

Actually, when you think about it, staying in cornfields would be a good way to stay hidden and keep moving. There are plenty of cornfields between Illinois and Wisconsin. And, he seemed pretty familiar with the area. I wonder what ever happened with that report from an employee at a restaurant...

Or in.....I would think they would want to check out their story. Make sure they weren't in the area when the LT was killed.

I have no clue if they were involved but I would hope the task force rules them out due to description, location and timing. Somewhere I read that police would keep an eye out for something like this to happen in the weeks following the LTs death. I just hope they rule them out.
