Exactly! I don't personally know any homeless people but I see them at fuel stations and honestly, I cannot imagine any of them seeking an online date. This is why I believe he used online dating profiles as a way to find his victim. And he was obviously suave enough to catch Ingrid in his web...

Maybe a "couch surfer" that at times slept on the street/in a shelter.. Either way that sounds homeless to me. Just don't see that type of person involved with online dating.
