This has probably been answered and I just missed it. I have worked in the legal system for many years and should know this, but I always thought cases went to grand jury because there was some question about sufficient evidence to indict. Am I wrong about that?
Bottom line: Nobody but the medical examiner at this point can confirm a pregnancy. Nobody she told or she didn't tell can confirm anything, not family, not friends, not LE, nobody.
People are telling what they say she told them. You can choose to believe them or not.
This is just an unidentified friend's opinion. I think the point was she wanted the baby but continued to drink and/or do drugs, not that she was trying to abort the baby in that manner. Still feels like an attack on the victim, but it could be true or not.
From the DM article:
"The Office of the Lafayette County Coroner told DailyMailTV: 'The initial examination of the autopsy of Alexandria Kostial was performed. The additional ballistic, trace and comparative testing is not complete. The final complete autopsy report will not be issued by the...
Also from this article:
"However, when the mug shot for Theesfeld came out, Riddick told FOX13 she had no idea who he was. She was confused."
So this is bizarre to me. She was Ally's roommate for a year and a half, and she never heard his name and didn't recognize him???
Thank you, I have the same question. Did the blood on his clothing match hers? Were the bullets confirmed to come from his gun? If so, why the grand jury??

They need to hold a press conference! If for no other reason just to assure the public there is no accomplice running around.
Just makes you wonder who or what they are "protecting" by doing this. All this secrecy would not be comforting to me if I had a child going to school there.
After reading more and more comments from friends, I feel like we are getting a better understanding of the dynamics of their relationship. It makes me so sad. I wish I could yell to her in that video, "Call your mom and dad, go back home, go now, tonight!" If only.
Geez, you're right, just worse and worse. From that article:
"She would set goals in her mind and she would make those goals and go beyond that,” said Maddy Norris, a friend of Kostial’s in St. Louis, her hometown. “She kept telling us, like, I want to go to Ole Miss and she accomplished that...
From that artcle:
Another friend, who spoke with the Daily Beast anonymously, said Kostial had previously described the suspect to her as "crazy aggressive.
"I don’t know how many times she called me about him. About how he was treating her and about how he acted when they were together," the...
