I've always believed the jury felt put upon, which Judge Perry encouraged by going above and beyond to accommodate them with nights out, the dessert lady, etc. I think when the pinheads got the case, they had one goal, which was to get back to Pinellas County stat, and the quickest route back...
I didn't watch the show because honestly, I just don't need the aggravation. But I've been reading all the comments here, and remembering when we were all watching this play out 10 years ago. Reading about the A's again, Cindy in particular, makes me as angry today as I was back in 2008-2010...
I guess I'm mean, too. Cindy created the monster that is Casey, with George's help as he stood by and let that witch he married run the show. They created the monster that killed their precious granddaughter, and then had the unmitigated gall to try to blame anyone and everyone else for their...
Can someone remind me what Mary told Marcia about what Adam said to her on the phone when Jonah handed the phone to him (right after she learned of Rebecca's death and called Jonah). She asked Adam what happened, and he said the weirdest thing, something like, "I don't want to get into it. Don't...
I found this: http://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/marcia-clark-investigates-the-first-48/tv-listings/1162121/
Looks like the Spreckels show will run on Apr 26, Apr 27 in the wee hours, and May 3.
FYI, you can also watch the show online after the original airing, which in this case is Apr 26, at the...
Cynic: Nice summary, thank you! With regard to just the paragraph above, while I'm uncomfortable with Gore and anyone from SDSO reviewing or re-investigating Rebecca's death, I agree with Mr. Greer that the civil trial verdict has made it very difficult for them to simply stick to their original...
Agree.
Imo, it's entirely political. Gore is trying to take the wind out of Myers' sails on this. In addition, there's no way he wants outside eyes on the investigation. It will be "reopened" and closed again by his people, with the same result, and I predict it will happen in a hurry. ETA: It...
It seems to me the miscalculation on the part of the defense (which imo includes SDSO, the ME, AS, JS, and their fixers, including Webb) all along has been arrogance. They initially assumed they held all the power (and they did, for 7 years), but the Zahaus persisted, which wasn't in their...
Love your wit, nanwv!
Her nails and cuticles definitely look as though she'd been gardening in fresh soil. How did that happen? I think we'd be horrified to know the full truth of her final hours.
I've been thinking the same thing. The defense (in all their forms) would have us believe Rebecca received a VM from JS and immediately stripped naked, painted the message on the door, bound her wrists and ankles, fashioned a noose, and threw herself over the balcony in a quick, neat display of...
From the beginning, it felt to me as though those who wanted to close the case as a suicide tried to intimidate and marginalize everyone who thought Rebecca was killed and wanted the case reopened. The bullying of Bremner by Gore, the online bullying by members of "team Shacknai," the activity...
The pictures don't offend me at all - they just make me sad (and angry at times). My heart breaks all over again for the Zahaus every time I see one, knowing how much more difficult it is for them to see what she went through.
I scrolled through the rest of the posts after yours, Screecher, and didn't see it mentioned.
I have the same question you do. There's the wound we were discussing yesterday, on her left side, but there also appears to be another significant wound on the right side farther out on her shoulder...
This appears to me to be Rebecca's body, stomach down, viewed from above, and no longer on the grass. Perhaps on a wrap of some kind, or at the ME's office?
Another thing to consider is when the photo was taken. LE photo? Or ME photo? I have no experience with dead bodies, but I'm guessing...
Now we need to know if there's any evidence of the hogtie rope extending to the noose.
ETA: What Verboten said just above, which I didn't see before posting.
From my observation, reporters and journalists these days are happy to have their work written in whole or in part by outside parties. Gone are the days of actual investigators or even mildly curious reporters.
That's why so many news articles are nearly identical - one "journalist" writes up...
My SWAG (scientific wild-azz guess): Most people have limited funds and would never even contemplate hiring a "reputation management firm" in these situations. Imo
Imo, plain old laziness coupled with lack of investigative skills. Media today essentially reports what other media outlets are reporting. It's one big circle you-know-what these days, with very few exceptions.
