CA - Elizabeth Holmes (Theranos) Wire Fraud

Totally agree that it’s word salad. But many lab tests involve adding a reagent that will interact with the chemical that you’re trying to measure in a way that causes a detectable change (enzymatic color change, chemiluminescence, change in electrical impedance, etc) that is measured by an...

CA - Elizabeth Holmes (Theranos) Wire Fraud

That could be a basic description of the way most medical blood tests work. And it’s not new or groundbreaking. I have some experience working in medical labs. Essentially everyone in that field saw that she was a fraud. And the fact that none of her investors came from that field, which has...

    AL AL - Brittney Wood, 19, Mobile, 31 May 2012 - #14

I thought the show was pretty well done, and it did make me feel more sympathetic towards Chessie and Derek. But it left out so much. Unless I missed it, they didn’t even touch on substance abuse issues in the family, and I think that’s relevant in a missing persons case.

Found Deceased UT - REMAINS FOUND - MacKenzie "Kenzie" Lueck, 23, Salt Lake City, 17 June 2019 #10 *ARREST*

I'm way behind, and this may be redundant. There should be no victim blaming in any case discussed on WebSleuths, but there are lessons to be learned. This case reinforces one lesson that we have seen before: Contacts made through the internet may not be what they seem. That's true in real life...

Found Deceased UT - REMAINS FOUND - MacKenzie "Kenzie" Lueck, 23, Salt Lake City, 17 June 2019 #9 *ARREST*

This is heartbreaking. So sorry for all who knew and loved Kenzie. I'm sure LE are on top of it, but I hope they look into all of his online connections, AirBnB customers, etc to see if there are any links to other missing women. Edited to complete last sentence.

    GUILTY TX - Sherin Mathews, 3, Richardson, 7 Oct 2017 #9

Thankful for this verdict! Is the final word for Sini that she walks away with all charges dropped? If so, that's... almost unbelievable.

IMHO, there are always more similarities than differences. In any generation or any demographic group or any geographic location, you can find good, bad, horrific, and inspirational. Again, JMO, but I don't think KL's motivations or vulnerabilities are unique from other young women. At least...

Found Deceased UT - MacKenzie "Kenzie" Lueck, 23, Salt Lake City, 17 June 2019 #5

I really do feel compassion for her. I agree with everything that you said. I teach college students. There are some regional differences (West Coast for her vs Deep South for me), but I feel like if I compare Kenzie to my students, in spite of the racy topics getting a lot of attention here...

Found Deceased UT - MacKenzie "Kenzie" Lueck, 23, Salt Lake City, 17 June 2019 #5

I'm very curious about her state of mind too. The age of 23 is a strange time - some peers who were all at similar places in life just a year ago are starting to go in many different directions. Some are going into prestigious graduate schools or landing dream jobs. Others are in serious...

I thought so too, but I kept scrolling and there was another JJ comment further down that was pretty specific. If true, new info to me. ETA: Sorry. I see that this has already been stated multiple times. Can't keep up with y'all today!

Found Deceased UT - MacKenzie "Kenzie" Lueck, 23, Salt Lake City, 17 June 2019 #3

Two questions that I still have... 1) Where did Kenzie's roommates and SLC friends think that she was from Monday until she was reported missing on Thursday? (Did she not tell them her travel plans? Did she have a history of disappearing for a few days?) 2) What was her emotional state when she...

    Found Deceased AL - Danniella Vian, 24, Mobile, 17 Jul 2018 #6

I know that in previous threads there was a lot of discussion about the GPS and where it pinged, how it was disabled, etc. I'm being lazy, but can anyone remind me if the info we "know" about the disabled GPS that has been confirmed by LE? I have not seriously considered this case as an accident...

MOO... I don't know what to think happened here. I just wanted to say that one possible answer to your questions about why a guilty party or accomplice would talk to LE or help search (paraphrasing) might be: to control the narrative; or to see what LE knows.

    CA CA - Hannah, 16, Devonte, 15, & Sierra Hart, 12, Mendocino County, 26 Mar 2018 #4

Speculation... but I think that means that they could only document levels in 3 of the kids. Devonte's body has not been found, Siera's was badly decomposed, and Hannah only had partial remains recovered. They may have all been given Benadryl, but it's unlikely that detailed toxicology testing...

I'm kind of surprised at the skepticism I'm hearing about McRaney as a suspect, both on here as well as among locals IRL. I know it's hard forget 20 years of speculation and (sometimes wild) theories about this crime; but try to imagine if 20 days (not 20 years) after the crime, we had known...

    AL AL - J.B. Beasley, 17, & Tracie Hawlett, 17, Ozark, 31 July 1999 #4 *ARREST*

It's an unusual name. I remember reading that she was named after her father (Hilton Beasley) and a family friend (JB Green), I think. Everyone who knew her called her JB. I can't find a link for this, although I know it's on an earlier thread, so I guess I'll call it... Speculation.
