Sure they wouldn't stick out here, but I don't think it's that easy to come to Canada - how easy is it to get a fake passport? And they'd have to say why they were coming here. Just for vacation? Where are you staying, they may ask the address, and for how long?

Maybe just MAYBE if they HAD gone to the court with these claims to try and get a judge to grant them more custody etc., and then were unsuccessful I could see them having this idea, but they didn't even try, just already assumed everything was against them, like this was their only option...
Just bumping this one up and I recently listened to her season of the Island Crime podcast. It's a good, well done podcast, and a sad story! I hope she is found one day to give her friends and family closure.
