The phrase "near Short Brackland" means within half a mile of Short Brackland. This covers all of the town centre, and more besides. If you drill down to a particular month using the date picker at the very bottom of the page you provide the link to, there seems to be very little crime in SB...
If they work effectively, it guarantees that Corrie didn't walk down SB, and therefore narrows down the possible explanations for his egress from the Horse Shoe. If they don't, then it opens up a whole new set of possibilities. In fact it blows a hole in whole investigation. I've always...
I could certainly see cheeky-chappy Corrie doing this, drunk, drugged up or sober. Even Nicola was quick to admit that she saw this as a possibility. In fact, I got the impression she saw this a real possibility.
You have raised too many brilliant points in your posts to comment on all of...
I was never too sure where this line of argument came from, but once it was out there it developed a life of its own and hindered the investigation, in my opinion. The camera was a rotational camera - at times it was pointed elsewhere. Someone has recently pointed out elsewhere that it is, in...
This is one of the few new ideas that has come out in recent times, but I'm not buying it, I'm afraid. To my mind, Corrie doesn't seem at all interested in The Grapes as he walks past - if he was intending to go there after his takeaway, you'd have thought he would have at least looked through...
... doing a rather bizarre "look left, look right" before peeling off a mask? I wish this piece of footage could have lasted a bit longer.
And why, oh why, didn't they release the moving footage of "old man" and "no entry man" earlier? I think we've been looking at "young man" and "no entry...
Is that right? Really? If he was in the HS when Corrie entered, how could he NOT have seen him? I am just lost for words. Has this really been confirmed?
I immediately thought that as soon as I saw the picture, until I did a Google search on "chef's uniform". I now think the guy in the photo is wearing a shirt, with clear shirt tails: longer at the front (and back) and shorter at the sides. A chef's tunic is the same length all round.
I think this is still my favourite hypothesis (of many).
I'm not overly convinced. At least one CCTV camera overlooked the HS, but we know now that it didn't work. Would anyone have known that at the time? And the HS is very central in Bury, with pedestrians (and vehicles, of course) liable...
I agree with all of that. I think there are endless possibilities for C to have exited the HS, especially via SB. If the camera at the back of the Cornhill Shopping Centre wasn't working or pointed at SB, then the whole area is just a sieve. Even in the best of circumstances, the most that...
I must disagree. The former, on a very public highway, could easily attract a 12 month driving ban, which wouldn't be a good career move. The latter, given that Corrie sought out a secluded spot, would be punishable by a slap on the wrist from the judge, and a warning from his Sergeant not to...
Much as I appreciate the painstaking Photoshopping you've been doing, Colin, when I go back to the original image as issued by the police, what I see is a lighter, right-angled shape, which for me has to be the edge of the head-rest on the driver's seat. No face leaning though (although I could...
Which sort of ties in with my own gut feeling on this: that there is no specific information that has led them to search the landfill site at this point in time, but rather that this is the last stone left to be turned before the investigation is wound down. It is a case of "now or never"...
I don't, and recent posts make me think others are of the same persuasion. I think Nicola also doubts this "fact". I think it is possible to get at least to the end of Short Brackland without being seen, which opens up a worrying number of possibilities.
He could potentially lose his job.
If he is involved, I feel desperately sorry for the guy. One minute he plays the Good Samaritan by offering a lift to a tired, cold, worse-for-wear member of Her Majesty's Armed Forces (or at the very worst, picks up a phone that doesn't belong to him), the...
I'm assuming the bin lorry went up the A1101, which would appear to be the most direct route to BM. If Corrie got out in the vicinity of Tollgate Bridge, which is almost exactly a mile away from the HS, that is definitely on the way to Honington.
I can certainly see merit in Gannondorf82's suggestion on page 10, that C cadged a lift from a sympathetic binman.
My latest scenario has C happy to be dropped a mile or so out of town to the north, as it would leave him that much nearer his base, as the bin lorry heads back that way to BM. It...
