I think "field" was simply a poor choice for a descriptive word..
something like "sparse desert terrain" or "empty area" or "hardpack flat ground"
might have been more suitable imho

a quick google shows no updates that i could find.
The last newspaper article says the sister found pants with blood on them.. wouldn't police have kept that as evidence? Which means they either didn't search or didn't find them if they did search.

it's been raining at the search location the last couple days,,
hopefully anything not visible during prior searches has been swept into view.
just a little over a football field and a half from the cabin..that's a long way to go barefoot and with snow on the ground. I think the concussion played a part. I am sorry for her and the family..may she rest in peace.
did the old phones work / have minutes on them? Because I have every phone I've ever owned in a box somewhere. they would be at my main residence not a vacation home too.
