This may be the best photo they have, and so maybe they hoped someone recognized the outfit someone was wearing that day. But I also have a theory that they released the photos and audio they did, while saying there was more captured, because BG has either Libby's phone or a phone Abby may have...
A bit O/T, but for all of you who have followed other cases on WS: I assume 36 threads before things go off the rails and turn into Lord of the Flies is pretty good, right?
Something I'm currently hung up on: I rewatched the WLFI news clip from the night of 2/13 when Libby's grandpa said her phone was pinging all over town. That quote has been discussed much, as have the fact that he (and Abby's mom) seem relatively calm. After watching the clip with fresh...
Here is where it was posted that LE said RL was moved for his own safety: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?332658-IN-Abigail-Williams-13-amp-Liberty-German-14-Delphi-13-Feb-2017-31&p=13238816#post13238816
It was LE who said he was transferred for his own protection. I'm a bit baffled they moved him back so quick, too. Although they originally wouldn't say where he was transferred, but everyone found out through Vine pretty quickly...so maybe they moved him back because the undisclosed location...
I would only point out that if they gave him to Carroll County, then it would likely say Transferred and not General Release. When Carroll County gave him to Clinton County last week, it showed/shows up as Transferred.
Respectfully, I don't think LE has said there's nothing to see here. He was being held on an unrelated probation violation. He could have been held for up to 15 days without bail, but it would appear he has now had a bail set and paid, so he was released from custody. He will have to return...
I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't even thought that there could be a second phone, because I was so caught up in the one phone we do know about. But this is the sort of thing I'd hoped would come from my post, so thanks!
When you're stuck and pieces aren't fitting into place, an enlightening exercise can be to assume the opposite of what you believe and play it out logically to see if any pieces suddenly fit. Even basic stuff like, "Who has Libby's cell phone?"
I (still) believe LE recovered her phone, but...
Right, it doesn't have to mean they were tipped off, but I've spent my career dealing with the media and doing PR, and I believe they were tipped off. My observation is that this was set up nicely for them...the police wanted the attention IMO.
Part of me agrees with this assessment, and I come back to it often. But part of me wonders why they made such a show of it when they served the warrants. I believe the press was tipped off, and Sgts. Riley and Slocum said more (and did more interviews) about this search than any other one...
Re: LE saying RL's alibi isn't adding up. This video led the 5 PM news in Indy yesterday. It's cut off, but context is explaining why they are searching RL's property. Sgt. Riley doesn't say outright that RL's alibi doesn't add up, but that seems to be the strong implication...
That's a good point. I hadn't meant to track them as if they might be suspects, or even that someone should put their names on here, just wondered if anyone had done this exercise on their own that could give us anonymized numbers. I can see how it might be a rules violation, though.
ETA...
Thinking out loud: Has anyone tracked other inmates in Carroll County Jail over past few weeks besides RL? Run those names and see if anyone else has been transferred? If they are picking up people on unrelated warrants, I'd guess they would end up with space issues quick. I'm not sure it...
I think it has to do with the fact that there are a lot of new inmates in that jail who got arrested on other warrants in the course of this investigation. If they think RL is involved with the murder, I'm sure they blame him for the fact they are suddenly in jail (that is, they probably...
Actually, I'm not sure anymore, either. I'm pretty sure the truck in this video is RL's that was towed away. I think they were moving it here to get it ready for tow truck. But just speculation.
You can do a Google street view of 310 W Main Street in Delphi to see what I'm talking about. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office and Jail is a one story building that takes up maybe a city block. Not a huge space. It also serves as the administrative offices, so the actual jail is only a...
