DA seeking adult charges
For those who may be interesting, I came across this article earlier regarding psychopathic children... It's worth a read if your interest has been piqued with our discussions on here...
I think we'll have to agree to disagree, otto. I think we are saying similar things but see them in very different ways
Without saying how, I have seen and dealt with psychopaths first hand and in varying age groups so that as well as years of study, form my view
I don't really understand your response at all. I didn't disagree with you. I expanded saying that there is plenty of research - agreeing with what you posted - saying that brains aren't fully formed until mid-20s. All I'm saying is there isn't a magic number of developing that 'maturity', which...
If you're going for cognitive development, there's plenty of research to show the brain doesn't fully form until mid-20s, however there is no scientific fact that from 15 to 18 anybody will go from 'I didn't see why I shouldn't kill an innocent 10 year old' to 'I really should not have caused...
Why? What do you think the difference of 3 years between 15 and 18 makes? I'm not being obtuse, I genuinely don't comprehend the thought process or what magically happens when you turn 18
Going round in circles, but again, not if the killer is a psychopath. They are not ill. It is not an illness
Also, as another posted helpfully, there is no finite sentence in a psych facility. Psychopaths are also masters of manipulation and would be able to manipulate people into thinking they...
Psychiatric ward again implies that someone is treatable/would benefit from treatment. Psychopathy isn't an illness and people wired that way know right from wrong and have full comprehension, they just don't care/choose to do whatever suits them
Don't understand what you mean by 'beating him'...
I didn't say 'evil'. If that's your opinion, you're entitled to believe that. I disagree and so do a lot of medical studies. Psychopaths are either born that way or it's a combination of genes and nurture. People might not be born 'evil', but they can be born with a predisposition for lack of...
That's all very well, IF there is an 'illness'. If he was just 'born wrong', you can't rewire synapses in a brain or undo frontal lobe trauma/'switch it back on' and put them 'back on track'. 99% of the prison population would no longer be there if that were the case
It doesn't really matter whether they can treat him or not, to me. Or whether there is even something he would be agreeable to 'treat' even if it was a possibility (psychopathy, along with BPD and narcissism are personality disorders so ingrained that they are thought of as generally incurable...
Psychopathy isn't a chemical imbalance, something like bipolarity or schizophrenia would fall under that umbrella, their brains are wired differently and can never be literally rewired to function as a 'normal' brain would. Unfortunately, there is no 'cure' for people like this, it is just how...
If the above is fine, then I guess I can post what I saw too... https://www.facebook.com/jeremyhub/?hc_ref=SEARCH&fref=nf - the comments in the top post regarding Kiaya are potentially interesting
