Replying to MissMidge - At one time he was an active cyclist; and in recent years, though it didn't reflect much in his physical appearance, he somewhat rekindled his passion for cycling. The bikes in the shed were not actually that old, and I believe he still had the receipts for them.

Adrienne's case does seem to have waxed cold for some time, but I have full confidence the the detectives in charge are steadfast. Given the small amount of remaining physical evidence they have to work with, it's a tough one to crack. Though I cannot give full details yet as to why, I can say...

I would have to agree with said cop's opinion on the behavior patterns. I'm hoping this was the same cop I spoke to.
